Keep the Positivity and Memory Alive For Years to Come – Why it Has to Be a Photo Booth!

My wife and I are directors of a successful chain of hardware stores in the Western Suburbs of Sydney.

Each year as a thank you to our staff and some of our principal customers we like to hold an event. In the past, we’ve tried team-building events, dinners, days out and handed out merchandise etc etc with a fair degree of success.

But the last event fell a bit flat and no one was talking about it on Monday. oops.

It was clearly time for a spruce up for this year’s spring event and the answer came in the shape of my daughter who told me about something I’d never heard of – photo booths.

Ok, so they are mobile booths of many shapes and sizes where people can take pictures at not just corporate events but occasions such as weddings, birthdays and anniversaries.

The photo booth hire in Western Sydney that we went with provided us with the ideal solution – a kind of 360-degree set up that enabled the assembled guests to stand on a platform while a camera did a swoop.

We also had a digital selfie booth that contained so many twists and features with unique props and custom backdrops to enable the participants to take memorable pictures. These days it really is the photo record of events that set them apart and this was delivered in spades.

The staff participation was not orchestrated by us as it was in the past but it just kind of flowed with the photo booth being the main attraction and the centre of attention.

We didn’t need to do much except watch in pleasure as everyone had a good time and virtually queued up for one more go in the booth. Many said they would like to have one at their own special party. It created a clear staff identity.

It was great to see our employees let their hair down and really enjoy themselves without being “forced” to – something that emerged after our faux pas last year when perhaps we were trying a little too hard with a formula that had become stale.

The company who set up the rig were helpful and on hand to iron out any tech difficulties meaning that all we did was enjoy ourselves too.

I’m a convert despite being a bit sceptical when my daughter suggested a photo booth. Now it is my turn.

She is getting married next year and I have no doubt that having a proper standard photo booth at her wedding will provide a focus for pictures and help to create the kind of positive memories that will last for years to come.

They have a “Kardashian Booth” that enhances facial features and adds a touch of glamour. That seems perfect for a wedding – and, of course, my daughter agrees with her proud dad!
