My Wide Awake Face with YSL Beauty

Let’s talk radiance and the best products on the market to achieve that glorious glow without trying too hard and having to wear too much makeup. As the last few months have moved on, I have realised that I am now that light to medium coverage girl and glowing skin is my favourite thing. YSL Beauty have it nailed with a capsule collection of products designed to bring glowy skin to the forefront without compromising on coverage, and bringing an all new natural look. There have been some key products that have remained in my makeup bag for years and years such as the YSL Beauty Touche Eclat and I’m over the moon to see a whole collection based on this wonder product. Let’s delve in deeper!

A good primer should be able to blur out imperfections and boost radiance and leave skin looking like a blank canvas ready for foundation application. YSL’s iconic Touche Eclat Blur Primer is doing the job perfectly. I don’t usually like a silicone based primer but the gel formulation actually sits much better on my face than most silicone primers do. It’s quite the magic product and the clear gel has suspended gold flecks and when applied to the skin, the light reflecting particles don’t give a shimmer or sheen but a gorgeous and diffused glow. Designed to be worn under foundation, you can also wear it alone for a radiant no makeup look and beautiful skin texture. It really does give a stunning luminosity to the skin.

The YSL Beauty Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation has been on my wishlist for an age and I’m so pleased to have it in my possession. I can see why it is the best selling foundation for YSL Beauty and it looks so good in it’s new packaging. It looks far more luxurious and stylish than the old packaging. It’s very buildable so whilst it applies and gives a light to medium coverage, you can get quite the full coverage on this. I’ve found this to be really hard wearing and stays in place throughout the day with minimal touching up. It’s very lightweight on the skin and does feel that you aren’t wearing at all, which is one of the plus points for me. I really like how it looks and feels and the luminosity that comes with it makes me look awake, refreshed and gets rid of those dark sallow areas around my under eyes. A wonder product for sure. I wear shade B40 which is a perfect match.

I’ve always felt that there has been a lot of confusion around the YSL Beauty Touch Eclat Illuminating Pen and I cannot tell you how many encounters I’ve had with people who think it’s a concealer. Spoiler alert…it’s not. It’s an illuminating pen and it’s well loved for having the abilities to make you look like you’ve had a good 8 hours sleep in an instant. It’s a very sheer fluid when dispensed from the pen and whilst it comes with a brush applicator, I find that a patting motion into the skin is the best way to get the most from your Touch Eclat. Add it to areas where you find natural shadow, darkness or sallowness and this little beauty will help cover with a light sheer veil of luminosity. There is no shimmer or glitter, but just pure radiance and glow. So, if you did think it was a concealer and wondered why it didn’t cover up blemishes, that’s why. I’m also really pleased to see how much they’ve enhanced the shade range as the original shade one was far too light for my skin but I have found a great match in shade 2.5.

You know how I love a good highlighter and I have been enamoured with the YSL Beauty Touch Eclat Shimmer Stick for an instant shimmering finish. With it being in a stick form, it’s very easy to apply and you can blend it seamlessly with either a brush or your fingers. There’s no limit to where you can wear it; cheekbones, décolletage, arms, legs, inner corner of your eye. I have the shade Rose Gold and it’s sublime.

If you wanted to have a more intense glow then the YSL Beauty Couture Highlighter is for you. It’s ultra fine and super smooth and gives a ultra high shine with a metallic shimmer. Powder highlighters will always be my favourite for spotlight highlighting and this is perfect. It doesn’t affect your makeup application and sits on the skin weightlessly.

With all of the products, we also have the signature YSL Beauty scent which reminds me of melon and tropical freshness. It’s absolutely gorgeous.
