Over the years I have been extremely lucky to have been able to just pop to America to pick up those coveted makeup brands that were sold in stores such as Macy’s, Ulta and the Holy Grail of makeup; Sephora. We’ve started to see those brands head over the pond and now brands such as Too Faced, Drunk Elephant, Danessa Myricks and Anastasia Beverly Hills are a lot easier to get your hands on. The latest USA import to hit UK shores is Bite Beauty which was previously a Sephora Exclusive. Bite Beauty is a wonderful brand and if you haven’t heard of them before, you may have heard of their Lip Lab where you can create your own custom lipstick in their flagship store in New York City. I’d only ever tried one lipstick from Bite Beauty but now, they are here in the UK at my disposal and the best thing is that I can get it in Boots and from Feel Unique.

What’s the deal with Bite Beauty?

Bite Beauty is a brand that will tick a lot of boxes for a lot of consumers. Every product is vegan and cruelty free, and contains ingredients that we find frequently in the skincare that we love; antioxidants, vitamins and fatty acids, all wrapped up in fun and playful packaging. It’s a luxury brand and does have a mid to high end price tag however the most expensive product in the range comes in under £40. The range is completely inclusive with 32 shades of foundation and lipsticks that would suit every skin tone.

Bite Beauty Complexion

Changemaker Skin Optimising Primer – Hydrating or Mattifying Formulas

I couldn’t imagine putting on foundation without a primer, and I do like to use a mixture of both hydrating and mattifying primers to create an overall flawless look with no excess shine. This formulation is lovely. It doesn’t contain silicone which is a plus for me, and it almost feels cooling on the skin. I do like to give this adequate time to absorb into the skin before adding foundation but it does absorb really quickly. It contains macqui berry and the finish it left was so velvety smooth and blurred out. You only need a tiny amount and a little really does go a long way. I was most pleasantly surprised about how long my foundation lasted before I had to powder, and ultimately the finish on my skin was perfect – the texture was softened and blurred out beautifully.

Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation

With a whopping 32 shades, spanning from very fair to very dark, the shade range has just put Bite Beauty in the running for one of the most inclusive brands at the moment. I matched myself using the foundation shades online and found it quite easy to pick blindly. Each shade range is separated into Light (L), Medium (M), Tan (T) or Deep (D) and there are 8 differing shades in each range. I’ve been using both M65 (light medium with a neutral undertone) and M70 (medium with a neutral undertone) and they are both really good matches, with the darker one being more preferred when I have somewhat of a tan.

The formulation is very lovely. I did think this was going to be quite a full coverage foundation from when I first dispensed it but as I blended it across my skin, I realised that the coverage was really quite sheer with a light to medium coverage. This ‘your skin but better’ foundation has gone to the top of my daily wear list as it’s fulfilling my sheerer foundation needs but with a belting finish. It’s so light and smooth when applied and it feels like you are wearing nothing. I’ve tested it throughout a day at the office with the full commute, air conditioning and the power walk through the city centre and it ticks all boxes. Impressed? You bet I am!

Changemaker Flexible Coverage Pressed Powder

A classic powder compact from Bite Beauty that comes in eight shades. I’ve been using Medium 02 mainly to set my face in place in a morning and top up later in the afternoon. I do feel that it’s more of a powder foundation as it is very pigmented and I do actually really like on it’s own over the top of primer for a more low key look. It’s very finely milled but doesn’t kick up too much product when your brush hits and it’s lovely for smoothing and blurring. I think pressed powders are somewhat much of a muchness but this one is quite lovely.

Daycation Whipped Blush

Continuing with my blusher obsession, the Daycation whipped blush has slipped into my makeup menu with ease. Melon Mojito is a soft glowing peach that has a mousse like texture and applies like a dream. It blends seamlessly, whether you use a brush, sponge or your fingers and the fine shimmer adds a subtle glow to your cheekbones. It can also be used on the eyes which is a bonus. My only negative is that the product size is only 10ml and I don’t think it’s going to last me a long time at all! Shades range from peach to a deep berry shade.

Bite Beauty Eyes

Upswing Full Volume Mascara

Ok – I’m calling it now but this is going to be the bestseller for Bite Beauty. This is one of the best mascaras that I have ever used. Lashes with one coat are given lots of lengthening. With two coats, the volume is amped up. The fat bristle wand isn’t one that I usually for but the shape means that I am catching every single little lash and coating it with carbon black mascara. I can really push my lashes to be fanned out, long and thick black with no clumps in just two coats. It does smudge on me, but then again I am hard pushed to find one that doesn’t. It’s definitely worth the hype.

Upswing Extreme Longwear Eyeliner

Just throwing it out there but I cannot apply these types of eyeliner and I always make a damn mess. Looking at the thick brush I did think that my eyelids would end up as black eyes but I was surprised at how easy this was to draw that lovely straight black line across my eye. It dries down quickly, doesn’t transfer over the lid and wipes away in seconds with an oil based remover.

Bite Beauty Lips

Power Move Soft Matte Lipstick

With 20 shades to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice with all these lovely colours. With the staying powder of a matte lipstick, highly pigmented formulation that fills the lip with saturated colour in one swipe but with a gentle and non drying creamy formulation, these are definitely a gamechanger. I’m so happy now that I can wear lipsticks more and I love the shades here; Pluot, Fig and Cayenne. They can be softened for a more just bitten finish or worn to the highest intensity. I just love how they don’t cling to my dry lips and look so fresh and natural, even the most brightest of shades.

Power Move Creamy Matte Crayon

I’ve been kindly sent the shade Cognac which is very deep brown and not a colour that I would wear however I have given it a good try to see what it’s like. Making the perfect lipliner with its precision tip, drawing around your lip line is a breeze whilst colouring in your lip takes no time. I do think I want to grab a few more shades so I can use them in conjunction with my lip colours.

Yaysayer Plumping Lip Gloss

Bite Beauty have described this as a plumping lip gloss with the addition of the cinnamon oil to give you a perfect pout. Now sadly, I didn’t find this to be plumping ay all however I have big lips already so it’s not too much of an issue. What I did find was that the lip gloss gives a beautiful shiny finish with no stickiness. Either worn alone or over lipstick, the precision applicator will ensure a perfect application every single time.
