Lush Halloween Collection

And just like that, autumn is upon us. 2020 has certainly been a strange year and it’s whizzed by in the blink of an eye. I’m still not sure how it’s October next week when in my mind, it’s still April. Saying that, I am more than ready for autumn. I have my autumnal decor out and all I need is to take a trip to Primark to stock up on fluffy socks and cosy pjs ready for my continuation of hibernation as we move into the season of pumpkin spice, crunchy leaves and of course, Halloween. I feel that Halloween is starting to become as big in the UK as it is in the States and to be perfectly honest, I’m not mad at it. Especially when collection such as the Lush Halloween collection are launched and I get chance to play with everything!
This year, the Lush Halloween collection contains nine products; some new, sold old and some with brand new scents. I have a majority of the collection bar the ‘Boo’ Shower Slime and ‘Bewitched’ bubble bar and I have been thoroughly enjoying working through everything to develop my opinions on the collection. This, of course, has meant that I have also spent an awful lot of time in the bath for these research purposes and I can’t find any cause for complaint.
You’re going to see a lot of lip products being featured on my blog and socials over the next few months. I suffer dreadfully from dry and flaky lips and will try anything and everything to keep them smooth and soft, especially during the cooler months. This years Lush Halloween collection contains the classic Lip Scrub with a twist. This years flavour is Toffee Apple, and it’s a dual flavour product. The sweet and sour layers taste of green apple and sticky toffee and the formulation is made from caster sugar, sea salt and nourishing jojoba oils and Shea butter. I adore this scent and taste and I have found myself applying it simply just so I can lick off the excess. It does a good job of sloughing away dry skin on my lips whilst leaving them moisturised and I can do a quick exfoliate with just my finger to buff in the product. For a deeper exfoliate, I use a toothbrush to gently buff the product into my lips. Follow up with a touch of lip balm and you’re all set. It is limited edition so if you are a fan of the toffee apple scent, you’ll need to be quick. I still kick myself for not grabbing last years Pumpkin Spice lip scrub!
The Lush Ghost in The Dark is a rerelease of an old favourite and I can see why. It’s super cute with it’s little ghosty face and silly me didn’t realise that it was a glow in the dark soap. I did find this out on my middle of the night trip to the loo where I got a ghostly surprise! It has such a beautiful and uplifting scent from the bergamot and lemongrass oil and it doesn’t dry your hands out after use. In fact, it’s quite the opposite and I feel like I’m getting an all in one cleanse and moisturise. I guess that this is from the Cocoa butter and coconut oil ingredients. I feel like I should grab a couple of back ups of this before it floats off until next year.
Hear me out on this one. Bath bombs. I can completely give or take them and most of the time, I don’t really get involved in bath bomb life. I’m a rubbish blogger aren’t I? I much prefer to have a bubble bath with essential oils and I am very set in my ways. However, recently I have been trying to lift my mood and whilst bath bombs may not usually be my thing, they have been cheering me up with their scents and fun bath art that they create. The Lush Halloween collection features several bath bombs and I’m pretty impressed with what I have seen.
Lush Monsters Ball was dropped in the tub one evening and gave me a psychedelic explosion of pinks and blues turn into a deep violet bath that has the scent of Calacas; fruity lime and Neroli. This cute little one eyed monster is also incredibly adorable. How could you resist taking him home?
It has been quite sometime since Lord of Misrule has made an appearance in my house and goodness, I have certainly missed this amazing scent. I personally think that this is one of the best scents that Lush do. It’s delightfully spicy and masculine with black pepper and patchouli but with a warming vanilla base. It’s such an addictive scent and you can smell it on your skin for hours afterwards. When popped in the bath the green bath bomb dissolves into a pink and green swirly foam whilst you slip into bath water that resembles red wine. It’s absolutely wonderful.
Lush Bat Art is brand new for 2020 and has the ‘Junk’ scent of rosemary and sage. The art it creates in the bath is spectacular. It’s actually one of the most beautiful baths that I have ever seen. I’m really getting into these bath bombs – can you tell? I dropped Bat Art into the bath and it’s a slow melty bath bomb that starts off with a tail of blue and pink ribbons that run through the purple water. Sparkly black and silver glitter gets released and it’s just a joy to watch it. However, the clean up afterwards – make sure you have a Scrub Daddy to hand. The glitter gets everywhere and as it is so fine, it takes a few rinses to remove it. It’s definitely worth it though and I’ve already picked up a back up!
This cute little guys is called Punkin Pumpkin and is a rerelease from previous collections. I do believe that previously Punkin Pumpkin did have glow in the dark eyes however this year it doesn’t. I really like the scent of this one. It’s citrussy but has that warmth of cinnamon spice. It does remind of a mulled cider; moreish and comforting whilst you sit in a bath of orange water. So cute and so perfect for Lush Halloween.
I’ve personally saved the best til last and I have completely fallen in love with the very fun, Very Very Frightening Shower Gel. For a start, it’s neon yellow and after a generous dollop has hot water and started to foam up, it turns into a sherbet lemon foam that moisturises and hydrates and smells incredibly good. It’s described as a fruit sweet scent and I think it smells like a tropical smoothie with the bergamot, lemon juice, fresh fig juice and grapefruit oil. It’s heavenly and I cannot get enough. Very Very Frightening is a new release but has the scent of a previous release Space Girl.
Lush have well and truly got me hooked with this collection so I cannot wait to see what comes out for Christmas!
