Colors make a difference: Colors will change the room’s mood immediately. Build a chic and dramatic dark colored bedroom; how about shades of midnight blue and slate grey? For an earthy atmosphere, try a deep green. The opulent final touches could include golden accents and mirrored furniture If minimalism is more your thing, white and neutral shades can be luxed-up with faux fur and sparkle.
Declutter: Having lots of clutter is one of the worst things you can do for your bedroom. Not only does it look messy and make it harder to clean, but it also can stop you from having an uncluttered mind. Spend some time sorting through all of your belongings, and apply the Marie Kondo principle – it an item does not have a purpose or does not spark joy in your life, get rid!
Store it away: Once you have had a good declutter, it is time to tidy up and store as much as possible out of sight. Keep only nice things in view – those boring deodorant cans can go in the drawer but keep that pretty perfume bottle on the dressing table! Think about storage solutions such as built in wardrobes which are superb for keeping all of your clothes and various other things out of view and tidy.
Black it out: Darkness is essential for a decent night of sleep. The absence of light sends a signal to the brain that it is time to go to sleep. The problem is that with bright streetlights and cars going up and down, it can be too bright in our bedroom. Invest in a decent blackout blind or curtains, or at the very least, thick-lined ones to keep as much light out as possible.
Add some art: Art is one of the best ways to give your room a bit of personality, whether classy or kooky, modern or traditional. If you need inspiration, look for abstract pieces with soothing colors or tones. The best walls for art in the bedroom are directly over the bed or on the wall opposite the bed. Large scale pieces are best and should be hung at eye level.
Quality sleep needs a fresh, clean, and tidy bedroom. By putting these tips into practice, you will find yourself diving into bed as early as possible ready to snuggle up and slumber the night away, ready to feel refreshed in the morning.
