Animal Print is My Favourite Colour

Well, I have finally done it. I’ve let my guard down somewhat and I’ve had photos taken outdoors and in full view of passers by. Daunting? Definitely. Lack of control? Strong. Confidence? Full to the brim. It’s so strange that after spending so many years controlling my own angles that putting trust in someone else to take my images took more than a pep talk. Luckily, I had the absolute babe that is Charl from Ginger Girl Says to nail these shots. A few more days out together and I think I will be on form with some top notch posing.
For our day date at Sunset at Australasia, I wore my new PrettyLittleThing snakeprint midi dress. When I ordered this dress, I wasn’t sure about it. Being top heavy, dresses with buttons don’t usually sit right but when it put it on, I felt that it sat just right and gave me somewhat of a waist. Usually a compromise between enough material on the top means a baggy and oversized mid section. Teaming the long sleeved dress with a black vest, I was able reduce any worry about straining buttons whilst still feeling comfortable.

The midi is a length that I hope sticks around for sometime. I find the length to not only make me feel comfortable but I feel incredibly stylish and a little grown up by wearing that length. I find that I also don’t worry about footwear as much and depending on the dress, I can wear boots or even sneakers to make it more of a casual affair. This time round, a pair of black opaque tights and my trusty battered ASOS ankle boots were worn but I would also wear a pair of strappy sandals to make this more suitable for an evening out.
There does seem to be quite the trend for animal print at the moment and I feel like I am drawn to it like a moth to a flame. I have a selection of new outfits hung up and nearly every item is a different print. It is my favourite colour I suppose, but my wardrobe does look like a safari right now!
I’ve been heading to PrettyLittleThing quite frequently lately and the Plus range has really made me very happy of late. It’s no secret that I keep talking about the weight that I have put on and it’s nice to know that whilst I may only be in the first sizes available in the plus range, I have an option should anything change. Gradually of course, I want to get back to the weight that I was but I don’t see why I should have to compromise on style and fashion until I get there. I have a couple more dresses to share with you soon – I’ve been feeling very spendy lately!
Which animal print is your favourite?
