Although I have spent countless hours of my life walking through airports, it’s exceptionally rare that I get chance to experience the airport properly. Heading out on holiday back in February gave me the ideal opportunity to spend some time with what Manchester Airport Terminal One had to offer. World Duty Free kindly arranged for me to experience having a personal concierge service with the lovely Joseph, who made sure that all my needs were met. The concierge service is only offered at London Gatwick and London Heathrow at the moment so I was very spoilt. Once I’d passed through security, Joseph met me on arrival into Biza with a glass of prosecco and we made sure that every part of the airport was covered.
Starting at the beginning, we looked at the special offers on the alcohol and I tried not only the airport exclusive red wines, but also the Manchester Gin. 7am is a little bit early in the morning for alcohol but I was on my holidays. There’s a lot of special offers with duty free prices in the airport and although I refrained from buying anything, I was very tempted by the huge range of gins that were available.
My inner beauty addict was in my element walking through some of the amazing brands that World Duty Free has to offer. From the high end Creme de la Mer, to favourite brands Esteé Lauder and Yves Saint Laurent, there are a lot of travel exclusives that I could have spent a small fortune on. Airport exclusives in fragrances and makeup from brands such as Marc Jacobs, Bare Minerals, Givenchy and Guerlain, there are huge savings on high street prices. I love how each counter offers Jet Set Beauty treatments from hand massages, mini makeovers and even mini facials to make sure you’re ready for your flight. I also loved the Benefit counter which had a lot of airport exclusive sets just like this First Class Favourites set.
I couldn’t resist having a hand massage in Jo Malone, which as you know is a huge love of mine. Starting with a fresh Lime, Basil and Mandarin hand wash, my hands and arms were then layered with the Velvet Rose and Oud Body Creme before a spray of the brand new Myhhr and Tonka Eau de Cologne Intense. I fell in love with Myhhr and Tonka as soon as I smelt it, and as I had brought my new holiday scent of Velvet Rose and Oud Cologne with me, alongside my Dark Amber and Gingerlily Dry Body Oil, I thought that the new 50ml sized bottle of Myhhr and Tonka would be a perfect accompaniment to my holiday collection. I do love how everything can be layered to create a unique and signature scent.
Although I knew I would be buying myself a Las Vegas exclusive charm whilst away on holiday, I couldn’t resist having a look at the Pandora travel range of charms. I spotted a charm that I haven’t seen before, which would go beautifully with my travel inspired bracelet; a tropical seahorse with aqua coloured stones. It was so pretty and I hope I can get hold of it soon.
I also spent a lot of time near the Ted Baker bags and I can’t get over the prices compared to the high street. I’ve spotted the bag that’s next on my to buy list; the Porcelain Rose Tote. I’m not sure if it’s a travel exclusive as I can’t find it anywhere but I have totally fallen in love.
Thanks to Joseph, I had a wonderful time in the airport before I headed off to Las Vegas, and I just want to send a personal thank you to him for all his help. Nothing was too much trouble and his knowledge of the products and services was exemplary. Thank you World Duty Free for making the start of my holiday one to remember.
