Today is the penultimate part of my Valentines series and we have covered makeup, fragrance, chocolates and dream wishlists so far. Today I am going to delve into the art of self gifting and I have chosen some presents that I wouldn’t usually buy, but as its a special occasion I have pushed the boat out. Now, those of you lucky enough to have someone to buy you special presents then these will be perfect to drop hints about. If not, then get out your credit card girlies, it’s time to go shopping!
I have a huge love for costume jewellery, especially statement necklaces and stackable bracelets but sometimes I want something more personal and a bit more sophisticated. I’ve chosen two items of jewellery for this post and one item has been made just for me. Literally. The Anoushka name necklace* is so special, and as you can imagine, a rarity. It’s not very often that I can have items with my name on, so to have my name made from sterling silver on a delicate chain necklace has made me incredibly happy. I’ve always wanted a name necklace, ever since I saw Carrie Bradshaw wear hers. Made lovingly by Christopher James of London for LoveSilver.com, the necklace is priced at just £29.99 for the sterling silver version and can also be made using 9ct solid yellow or white gold.
The Jimmy Jane Dark Vanilla massage candle* from Amazon could be a perfect accompaniment for a romantic Valentines night in with your other half but it is also fantastic for us single ladies. I have been using candles made of the purest oils for several years and not only have they been making my house smell wonderful, but the oils have been moisturising my dried out skin. The Dark Vanilla scent isn’t too overpowering and the jojoba and shea oils bring my skin back to life. It’s a great size for travelling and it burns evenly and cleanly.
My second item of jewellery is the Nomination bracelet and charm* from Burns the Jewellers. I love charm bracelets and I have several as I love how I can build up a story on each one. The Nomination range is rather extensive with the charms all depicting different images so you can build a bracelet that is as unique as you are. You cannot buy the bracelet on its own, so you can start your charm collection off with whatever you choose. I went for a simple gold heart charm as it is Valentines Day after all. I love how the Nomination bracelet looks on, and although a unisex bracelet, its simplicity makes its very feminine.
A girl always needs new make up especially when self gifting so I had to add this beautiful Victoria’s Secret Lip Gloss Set into the mix. I actually won this beautiful present before Christmas from the gorgeous Devoted To Pink and it’s a stunning little set that fits beautifully in the Valentines theme. With six lip glosses in various flavours, your pout will be ready for puckering up in no time. As you can’t buy VS online at the moment, you’ll have to pop in one of their stores with are slowly popping up in various locations across the UK.
I think I may add to my self gifting spree later today and treat myself to a little something something whilst I’m in Boots. If you think of anything that I cannot live without, leave me a shopping list in the comments below!
