Back in February when all the girls in my newsfeed were getting Pandora rings, rose gold Michael Kors watches and getting engaged, I decided to have an alternative Valentines Day. We shall call it Galentines Day for ease, and I spent the day with my favourite gal pals doing what we do best – shopping, pampering and eating sweet treats on behalf of Brioche Pasquier.
I absolutely adore getting parcels through the post especially when they are filled with cake so to receive a huge box filled with Brioche Pasquier macarons and a lemon tart, I though I had died and gone to heaven. With a giant box of 36 macarons in six different flavours, each in a pretty pastel colour, I was spoilt for choice. I think my favourites had to be the vanilla and pistachio ones. Having macaron coloured nail polishes made for a lovely afternoon, so I went for a minty green shade to match my pistachio macarons whist the girls chose from the pink and pale lemon shades.
We were so full from all the food we had eaten during the day and the macarons that we kept nibbling on, so we saved the lemon tart for a later date. Buttery soft pastry with a set lemon filling, it was the most beautiful tart I had tasted. I think next time I pick one of these up, I will add a meringue top to it, as it would make the most gorgeous lemon meringue pie. What I loved about the tart though was that it was pre sliced! No more wonky cut pieces of cake that aren’t Instagram worthy with the Brioche Pasquier pre sliced pie. Plus it also takes away from the argument of who has the biggest piece, which is definitely a win win for me.
