Lifestyle: The Air Hostess’s annual exams

Hey lovelies,

Sorry I’m not able to get a proper blog post up for you today and tomorrow but I am in the middle of my annual recurrent exams, also known in the industry as SEP. These are basically covering all safety and security, aircraft specifics and things like conflict and medical care. I am on 4 different aircraft types, the Boeing 767, Airbus A330, Airbus A320 and Airbus A321. I have to know the location of all of the equipment and all of the procedures in normal operation and emergency operation. It’s pretty intense but I have been flying for 8 years now so it is just a case of refreshing my memory so I go back online with a great knowledge base of what to do in any situation.

I had the most amazing response to my air hostess make up from last week, so I thought I would let you all get involved with an Ask Anoushka! So, any questions that you have about my job, or how to get a job like mine, or anything that makes you curious then please leave me a comment. I’ll choose the best ones and answer them in a blog post soon.

I will be back on Thursday with a new post and then unfortunately I’ll be having to drop my daily postings down to three times a week. Work is getting pretty hectic and I’m sadly not going to be in the country all the time.

I can’t wait to hear your questions!!

What do you get to do when you’re in other countries and how long do you stay?

  • Do you ever get nervous about flying?? especially when there are incidents in the news like the missing malaysian aircraft. I’m a really nervous flier and i always wonder if the cabin crew ever feel nervous! xx

  • What’s the most annoying thing a passenger can do?? I was on a flight and the man sitting in front of me had far too much to drink, the cabin crew cut him off as he was getting quite loud and inappropriate, he was not happy about no more booze!

I too want to hear war stories! Like the most obnoxious passenger, most annoying passenger, etc. So cool you get to fly on the big boys!

Also, let me know when you’re coming to America! Meetup!!!!!! 🙂

  • I love looking at all your instagram pictures, it seems like you are in a different place each week – living the dream. I want to know how long you spend in each country before you are whisked back to the uk before boarding the next plane. Do you actually get to see the countries you visit or do you just see the airport and the hotel room? I would love to see a blog post on this. xxx

    • I have been planning a post on this actually. I’ll try and get it posted soon 🙂 xx
