Last week, I updated you on a new website that is only a few days off it’s grand launch – Shop BXB. Shop BXB is the ultimate beauty destination, all underneath one roof, that offers great prices on big name brands. As mentioned in my post last week, I have a little giveaway running for you to win three products from Shop BXB; Guerlain L’Or Radiance Base, Becca Eyeshadow in Damask and Laurca Mercier Lip Trio in Ruby Sparks. Due to my work commitments, I wanted to have a full review for you in my original post but duty called and I was flying high whilst my package of goodies sat neglected at home, awaiting my return. So, of course, when I got home I got stuck in to these gorgeous items ready for a little review.
The Guerlain L’Or Radiance Base has been on my wishlist for quite sometime so I was thrilled to be able to choose this and also one for yourself. The clear gel primer is saturated with gold flecks that give the product the ultimate luxe feel. Now, of course gold flecks on the skin would not be good, however I do think they are just for decoration as when the primer is applied, they disappear. The primer that is left on the skin is hydrating and smoothing and leaves skin looking fresh and plumped up. I’ve tried using the gel alone as well as mixed into a foundation and I found that both ways worked to keep make up in place. When worn alone, foundation glides onto the skin smoothly and sits perfectly. It’s also worth noting that less is more with the Guerlain L’Or as it does have a tendency to feel sticky if too much is applied. It does have a whopping price tag for a primer, so I am so happy to include this in my giveaway.
I’ve been having a little love affair with Becca lately, especially after the success of the Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter, so when I was choosing a shade of the Becca Eyeshadow, I knew that I needed something to go with my highlighter. Damask is a light golden bronze shade with a demi matte finish. A perfect colour for a wash of gold across the lid, that would work on any skin tone. It’s such a beautiful shade and I have been pairing it with MAC Brown Down for a daytime smoky eye. It’s like the eyeshadow equivalent of Champagne Pop but without the metallic sheen. Long lasting and minimal fall out, it’s definitely a keeper.
Now it’s autumn, I’ve started to dig the red lipsticks back out and the Laura Mercier Lip Trio in Ruby Sparks has made me feel all Christmassy. With a full size lip gloss and a mini lipstick and lip liner, the trio is not only a handy size to keep in your bag, but a great way to try out Laura Mercier Lip Colours. I first noticed just how soft the lip pencil was when I first applied it, and just how deep the pigmentation is. Compared to my MAC lip liner in Ruby Woo, the Laura Mercier pencil is just so much easy to work with. I haven’t bought a LM lipstick before but I think I have been converted. The lipstick glides on smoothly, is fully opaque in one swipe and easy to control around the cupid’s bow. Creamy and hydrating, the lipstick is so beautiful. Topping off the beauty is the sparkly lip gloss that gives just the right amount of non sticky glossiness and a wonderful high shine. I think I’ve fallen in love!
