On Thursday 9th October, Selfridges Exchange Square played host to an exclusive press and VIP event to showcase the best looks in their Autumn Winter 2014 fashion show. As a huge Selfridges lover, I was over the moon to be invited, especially as it was being held the day after my birthday and it was a perfect opportunity to catch up with my lovely blogging friends. I took Emma from Miss Pond as my plus one, and met up with Anna, Irena, Jessica, Katie, Charlie and Keeley.
The invitation asked us to arrive at 19:30 for champagne and canapés with the fashion showcase to start at 8pm when the stores doors closed to the general public. It was such an exclusive event that I felt very honoured to be there. I mingled with the girls, spotted some of the cast from Emmerdale and Coronation Street as well as designer Nadine Merabi, and also got chance to speak to Jane Sharrocks, the general manager of Selfridges Exchange Square, without whom this evening wouldn’t have been possible. After the fashion show was over, we had a perfect opportunity to browse the latest fashions and try on shoes to our hearts galore, whilst sipping on our bottomless flutes of champagne.
The fashion show showcased 41 looks in both menswear and ladies wear. Make up on each model was done by Charlotte Tilbury and hair by Peter Marcus. There were so many outfits that I wanted, however the price tags that came with them left my eyes watering. One day, I’ll be dressed head to toe in Alaia. Here are my favourite outfits from the Selfridges AW14 Fashion Show.
Roland Mouret Black Zip Dress £1405
Marchesa Notte Gold Lace dress £1420
Now, the prices are way out of my budget however I have taken away some great ideas to update my wardrobe on a budget. Embellished and patterned sweaters are in and perfect for the cold. I have seen lots of leather, whether it be a bag, skirt, jacket or dress and evening gowns are girly and ethereal. Perfect for pairing with my Jimmys. I’ve added the links to the items available online, however some items are in store only. Why don’t you have a look and let me know your favourite trend for the Autumn Winter period. This post may contain PR samples that have been sent to me for consideration for review however all my opinions will be my own. The links in the post my be affiliate links which will earn a small amount of commission should you shop my recommendations.
