Moda in Pelle have been encasing my feet in beautiful shoes for so many years, so they do tend to be one of the first places I look when I need a new pair of shoes, or if I just want to fawn over the new styles of sparkly shoes. In fact, one of my first pair of Moda In Pelle shoes were the Arizona in pink glitter, which Katie Price also wore for her wedding to Peter Andre. Back in the day when pointy toed stilettos were the height of fashion! I’m regressing! Today’s post is about my lovely Moda In Pelle Blueberry boots and why I love them so much.
First of all, I love the packaging. The name of the shoe is clearly labelled which is ideal for a shoe hoarder like myself. I keep all my shoes in their original boxes, in lovely neat piles around my dressing room. The box is nice and sturdy which means stackable and the branded tissue paper inside is a nice touch.
The Moda in Pelle Blueberry is a chelsea style leather ankle boot in black. The colour actually looks more charcoal grey than black. Its quite an unusual colour but I think they look incredibly smart. They have three straps with buckle detail, almost like a smart but short biker boot. The boots have an inner zip making it easy to put them on, and are fabric lined so they are very soft inside.
When I first got them, I’m not going to lie, but they needed a lot of breaking in. Due to the leather being so stiff, they crippled me the first time I wore them. I kept wearing them around the house with thick socks to try and soften the heels up, where I ended up with blisters. Now they’ve been broken in, they feel as comfortable as slippers. They are easy to wear, and I like to team them with my skinny jeans or a skirt and thick tights. They also make my feet look slender and smaller than they are which is a big thumbs up in my book! One of the things I love about Moda In Pelle is the quality. I have boots that are still as good as new even after five years. As the boots get older, the leather gets really worn in and the distressed look really makes them look good. I think this is why I would rather spend a little bit more money for the quality and have them last for much longer than a cheaper pair.
