Whilst I’ve been on a beauty spending ban (which was going quite well until Urban Decay put the Naked 3 on pre order) I’ve been really good in actually thinking about if I need things or not. So, I have turned my attention to clothing and footwear instead. I did actually make a list of items that needed replacing first, so it wasn’t just a free for all in Oasis and River Island! Here’s what I have been buying lately!
PS It wasn’t all bought in one day, I left at least 24 hours between some purchase 😉 Also, most of these photos have been take with the flash on as its been grey outside for days! I will do proper swatches and photos of those beauty items that I have purchased soon!
With these cold nights drawing in, and the ever rising popularity of onesies, I thought it was about time that I encased my body in luxurious faux fur and teddy bear fleece. This incredible onesie from Next is the ultimate in luxury and is so warm and toasty that I have to switch the heating down! It washes well and the fur remains soft and in beautiful shape. Although it is on the higher side of the pricing spectrum, for the quality, look and feel I think it is a worthy investment. The Next Cream Faux Fur Hood Snuggle All-In-One is £38
As well as my onesie, I have replaced my old grey dressing gown with a new luxurious one. The Autograph Hooded Dressing Gown with Shimmersoft is the warmest, cosiest dressing gown I have ever purchased. Perfect for those cold mornings, I find myself wearing this until midday before I want to get dressed. I bought mine in a size bigger so I can really snuggle into it. As you can see from the picture, the fabric is simply stunning! £39.50 from Marks and Spencer.
I bought new boots! Chelsea boots are the boots of the season and I kinda wanted to bypass this trend as I had it in my head that they were for a younger age range and maybe wouldn’t suit me as I have larger feet and long skinny legs, and I didn’t want to look like a golf club. How wrong was I! By choosing a more sophisticated, structured pair rather than a slubby pair, I have revolutionised my wardrobe. Ok, maybe a bit over the top there however my new boots are rather beautiful and I look forward to the opportunities when I can wear them. A huge fan of Moda in Pelle, it was the first place I looked whilst on the hunt for new shoes. I own so many pairs of Moda in Pelle shoes and boots and they are still all in fab condition. The Moda in Pelle Blueberry ankle boots fitted the bill, and look super stylish for only £99.95.
Whilst walking past Oasis last week, I saw a gorgeous oatmeal coloured cardigan with shearling waterfall front. So I bought it 🙂 The Jemma knit was £48, and is the warmest cardigan. Wear with a vest top and jeans for a casual yet stylish look.
River Island is one of my favourite shops for basics and tops. I always buy my vest tops from here and they are all cotton and usually on offer for two for £10. I also picked up this little leopard print t.shirt for £25
Finally, I have bought a bit of beauty however it is all essential products and replacements. Except the eyeliner, and the lipstick. My hairdryer broke last year, so I was using my travel one. Not a problem when I had short hair but now my hair is growing at a rate of knots, I needed something a bit more powerful! Lee Stafford Big Volume Hair Kit is perfect for my needs and also comes with a soft soc diffuser for creating perfect curls. I will review this in more detail soon!
I also replaced my mascara with a new one, and in Boots after spending £15 on L’Oreal, you received a free gift box of products. So the eyeliner, although not a repurchase enabled me to get my gift set. The set is worth £30 and contains a full size lipstick, nail varnish and glitter mascara. Perfect for the party season! I also repurchased cotton wool pads.
I will do a full review on my L’Oreal beauty box soon as it is an incredible free gift.
So that’s what I have been buying lately. It may seem a lot but I did have vouchers to spend and it has been over the last few weeks. I hope you like what I’ve been buying 🙂This post may contain PR samples that have been sent to me for consideration for review however all my opinions will be my own.
