I received another nomination for a Liebster award last night, and although I have already done a blog post on my original nomination, I thought I would answer the questions set by my newest nominator Anouska from Anouska Millar. Not only is she the sweetest girl, but she is my namesake and us Anoushkas/Anouskas have got to stick together!
So, here are the answers to Anouskas questions and I hope it gives you all a little bit more insight to the world of Anoushka Loves!
1. Why and when did you start blogging and how long have you now had your blog for?
I started blogging at the end of June. I have been a lover of blogs for so long, and I thought what better way to indulge in my passion for make up and beauty products and my love of writing. I really enjoy the preparation of blogging, and having quiet days in which I spend time writing up pieces and working on them until I think they are perfect.
2. Whats your dream job?
Many years ago, I told my Mum that I wanted to be an air hostess and travel the world. 20 years later, and nearly 8 years of being in the airline industry, I can safely say that this is the job that is absolutely perfect for me and I enjoy every single day that I go to work. No day is the same, and I work with a fantastic group of people, some of which I class as my best friends.
3. What has been your favourite holiday?
My favourite holiday has to be New York. I went for my 29th birthday with my friend Jenny, and whilst we were there, we met up with Sarah and Paul, my friends from home. We had a fun filled three days, and managed to squeeze so much in that I was exhausted when I got home! We visited Times Square, 5th Avenue, did the Sex and The City bus tour, had champagne breakfast at the Mandarin Oriental hotel overlooking Central Park, went out in the Meatpacking District, watched Mary Poppins on Broadway. The list is endless!
4. If you could visit one place in the world where would you visit?
I’ve been very lucky and have managed to visit so many places, however I have never been to Thailand or the Far East, so that is definitely on my Bucket List!
5. Who is your favourite blogger?
I have several bloggers who I read and watch daily. My number one is the gorgeous Wayne Goss Make Up Artist. His videos are so concise and I love the way he describes products and how to use them. He also makes such funny videos when he has a bee in his bonnet. If you haven’t watched any of his vids, you should search him on YouTube.
6. What is your favourite film/Tv show?
My favourite TV show is Sex and The City, I can watch it over and over again. I also like comedies like I’m Alan Partridge, The Royal Family and The Office (UK). My favourite film would be anything by Disney. I’m a big kid inside!
7. How would you describe your style?
My style is quite reserved. I like clothes that fit well and don’t go out of fashion. I like neutral colour palettes, and I like to lounge around in jeans and Converse. I do like to have bright coloured party dresses though. I like to dress for my shape, so I tend to go for high necked outfits with a short skirt.
8. What is your favourite clothes shop?
I love River Island for day wear and for occasion wear, I buy a lot of clothes from Oasis. I haven’t been clothes shopping for ages, I think I deserve a PayDay treat!
9. What are your hobbies?
Apart from writing my blog, I also love shopping and learning. I like to do courses and teach myself new things. I am currently trying to learn German, however it isn’t going very well. I also love reading, however I hardly have time to read. I’ve just finished two books that I recommend. The first is Before I Go To Sleep by SJ Watson and the second is Room by Emma Donoghue.
10. Do you have any annoying habits?
Yep, i hate that I still go to bite my nails. I only stopped biting them about 12 months ago, and I am working so hard at making sure they grow nice but sometimes I just can’t help myself. I’m using Dr Lewinn’s Renunail to help strengthen them.
11. Whats your favourite make up brand?
I actually can’t pick just one. I’ve tried but I just can’t. My top three however are Tom Ford, Illamasqua and MAC. I love the luxury of Tom Ford and find that the cosmetics are exceptionally pigmented with a great formula that makes it long lasting. Illamasqua just continuously surprises me with their new innovations and products, like Hydraveil for example. And MAC is just my staple make up bag essentials. I find that with MAC products, I don’t have to reapply my make up at all throughout the day and I love the Back to MAC scheme. Thats why I have so many lipsticks!
Thanks so much Anouska, I really enjoyed answering your questions!
