I’m quite partial to a spot of fancy dress, but sometimes the effort, cost and time gets in the way. I totally take my hat off to those who have been doing amazing Halloween inspired make up looks (check out Hayley from Tea Party Beauty’s Instagram) but it’s just not me. Call me boring but I much prefer to still look like myself when I’m heading out to a party. The last time I got dressed up for Halloween was two years ago. Rocking an orange and black tutu, I was the Pumpkin witch and we celebrated Halloween whilst in Las Vegas with some of my closest friends. This year, I m may possibly be going to party so I need something that I can grab from my wardrobe at short notice, but I can still tweak to make it look occasion appropriate.

Luckily, I have in my possession the most amazing red wig which can transform any outfit in a second. From the minute I put it on, I was swishing my new red locks around like I was Cheryl Cole in a L’Oreal commercial. I am so worth it. The Hot Hair Vixen wig in Deep Cherry is a synthetic haired wig with a lace cap for a secure fit. I often struggle with wigs as the top of my head is quite small, however this fits pretty well, and doesn’t slip when being worn. If you needed to, you can secure the cap to your head using pins. A detailed guide was included for care of the wig, and it can also be washed if needed. With synthetic hair, as there is usually quite a shine on the hair shaft, I like to spray the hair with dry shampoo to take the sheen off and make it look more natural, but with the intensity of the red and for the purpose, I have saved this step until another time.

A classic LBD should be present in every girls wardrobe, and although my colour palette of choice is white, I do have a few classics that I can rely on for short notice nights out. Quiz Clothing have been around for such a long time but to be honest, I’ve not really paid much attention to them, as I’ve been struggling with sizing. After a drop in weight and a couple of dress sizes, I’ve been able to slide into a smaller dress with ease. I adore this cute crepe laser cut out dress which was only £22.99. I’m really tempted to get the berry coloured dress to wear in the winter with thick tights and chunky boots.

With a dress that runs quite short on my 5ft10 frame, I have found the most perfect pair of boots which make the short dress issue non existent. I have a bit of love for long boots and once again, Ego Official have pulled it out of the bag. A pair of sexy, long, thigh high suede and leather boots with a slim heel and rounded toe, the Beatrice Boot is everything that I wanted. At the moment, I’m finding that Ego Official are nailing each and every trend with their new releases. It’s not often that I go on the website and can’t find a pair of shoes or boots to fit a certain occasion. With long boots, I sometimes have an issue with a high instep but with a zip on the back of the boot, it makes light work of manipulating your foot into the shoe. I also love how there is a seam inside the boot that sits tight against your leg to make the boot stay in it’s rightful position. Helpful if you have slender legs.

It’s actually pretty easy to make up a quick and easy Halloween inspired outfit when you have some wardrobe staples to hand. And, if all else fails, I have a makeup bag of dreams to help transform me into a creepy broken doll, a vicious cat, or a bruised, decaying zombie. What are you planning on going as this Halloween? I’d love to know.

I do not know whether I am coming or going at the moment. One day I’m in 90 degreee heat in Las Vegas, then the next I am wearing numerous layers because the temperatures in the UK have dropped so much that I feel that I’m in the Artic. To be fair, I do love the mixture of being able to wear all my summer clothes all year round, but I cannot express my love for the UK cold weather. Wrapping up warm, layers and lounge wear make me happy and I’ve been relishing in the cooler weather as I’ve been able to dig out some old favourites as well as expand my wardrobe ready for the winter. Bows Boutiques is a new fashion website that I’ve found that specialises in the latest trends from clothing to footwear and accessories, and I couldn’t resist having a splurge and adding to my wardrobe.

Whilst the weather is still quite mild at the moment, oversized sweaters have to be one of my go to items. Comfortable to wear for lounging around the house, yet they can be dressed up for heading out. The Scarlett Sequin Heart Oversized Jumper is perfect for such occasions. The batwing style is flattering and I really do like how it sits. With some oversized jumpers, and being large of chest, I do run the risk of it looking like I am wearing a sack, however when teamed with black disco pants, it looks flattering without looking boxy. With a slim pant and oversized jumper, it draws attention away from the chest area and emphasises my legs and makes my figure look smaller. Dressing up a casual jumper is easy when adding a simple pair of black ankle boots like the Leah Suede Effect Ankle Boot. With a heel that isn’t too daunting for day to day wear, they are really comfortable. They also sit nicely around the ankle, at the most flattering length, which is ideal if your ankles are slightly wide. Wearing the boots on the first outing, I was most impressed at how comfortable they were, without rubbing on my heels. They broke in really quickly and they held my ankles in the right place, so there was no discomfort when walking around for hours.

My mum is probably rolling her eyes at me whilst reading this post, as she will be thinking ‘another winter coat, Anoushka?’ I don’t want to say I have a problem, but I have got three new coats for the winter months so far. I treated myself to a soft leather biker jacket, a waxed jacket for the colder weather and now my new favourite, the Elizabeth Chunk Faux Fur Padded Coat. Black? Check. Warm? Check. Faux fur? Check, check, check. It’s perfect. I have never had a padded coat before as I always found that they altered my shape and made me look bigger than I am, but I have fallen in love with the Elizabeth. The faux fur collar is made of the softest faux fur, which can also be removed to use the hidden hood. Warm is an understatement when wearing the coat. In fact, it’s not actually cold enough to wear it right now, as the padding makes you feel so cosy, it’s almost too much to bear. I actually can’t wait until it’s freezing out so I can wear this all the time. The Elizabeth coat is only £59.99, which for the quality, I’m very impressed. It looks a lot more expensive than it actually is, and the sleek gold zips and belt detailing give it a more luxurious feel.

I’m crushing on the Bows Boutiques website right now, and I’ve spotted some gorgeous lounge wear that I can totally see myself in over the next few months. Keep up to date with the newest stock, with new styles added daily on the Bows Boutiques Instagram account.

There are two things that get my attention enough to leave the warmth of my house and head out in to torrential rain. One of those is the thought of afternoon tea whilst the other is a chance to peruse new season handbags, shoes and coats. I’m pretty certain that my Mum will be chuckling to herself whilst thinking ‘She does not need any more coats’, but they’re my weakness when it comes to fashion. As are handbags. And shoes. Heading to Propertea in Manchester, one of my all time favourite tea shops, I was really looking forward to a good old blogger event to celebrate 10 years of fashion with Country Attire.

I’ve grown up in the countryside outside of Bury, where country style fashion was at its peak. Barbour and Hunter were brands that were worn, not for fashion, but for the practicalities of farming life. Living in a small rural village, where my secondary school offered Agriculture and Horticulture as a GCSE subject whilst sheep roamed the playground, country living was at its peak. The brands that were used for their hard wearing properties have gone full circle, and now owning a Barbour coat and Hunter wellies is more of a fashion statement than one to protect from the elements. Although I am a city living person now, I still have a deep rooted love for all things country so I jumped at the chance to see the new season collections from brands that I love.

With most fashion purchases, I tend to stick to classic styles that don’t date and prefer to wear outwear and accessories with smooth, clean lines that flatter and enhance my style. One of the first items that jumped out to me was the Ted Baker Aurore Long Wrap Coat in Camel. So true to my style, that two of my blogger gals mentioned that they’d seen a coat that I would love, hanging on the rail.

In a handbag dream world, I have found at least three bags that I’m sure will be making their way to my house over the next few months as I update my autumn/winter wardrobe. From Ted Baker, the Gerri Geometric Bow bag, a sleek matte black Cambridge Satchel 11″ Satchel and the most beautiful pop of colour for my neutral based wardrobe, the Vivienne Westwood Bluette Envelope Pouch Bag.

It made a refreshing change to attend an event where we could sit down and converse with fellow bloggers, over tea and cake. No rushing, relaxed and really informal, it was a perfect afternoon meet. Being dairy free, I couldn’t partake in scones and cream, but Propertea went out of their way to make me a dairy free snack. I actually think that mine was the best on the table. Caramelised Onion, hummus and falafel sandwiches, with roasted red peppers, a rainbow salad with butternut squash, pine nuts and balsamic glaze and a fruit plate with a sticky nut flapjack, all washed down with copius amounts of tea. I’ve not stopped thinking about those falafel sandwiches since the event, so as soon as I have some time off, I’m taking my Mum!

The chance to catch up with my friends has been really difficult as of late so it was just what I needed to spend time with Sally, and Jessica, who I haven’t seen in over a year. I also had chance to finally meet Lizzi and Kiran who I’ve spent a lot of time talking to online but never had the chance to see in person. Being the social media obsessive that I am, I actually won the competition for best social media for Twitter as part of the event and I’ve had the most beautiful Country Attire waxed jacket delivered to me. I’m going to put it all together for an outfit post, but it looks like I’m going to need a pair of Hunters to match my new jacket as well as the gorgeous pair of welly socks that I was kindly gifted.

I’m craving the country thanks to Country Attire!

Since taking the rather large step to introduce more fashion onto Anoushka Loves, I have become a woman obsessed. I’ve always taken a keen interest in fashion and prefer to pick up key pieces to introduce into my rather neutral based wardrobe, with classic shapes and basics that will last for seasons. As fashion changes so quickly, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with trends, so being selective with fashion does have it’s advantages. I’m more of a seasonal shopper, and tend to choose things ready for the weather changes, although I have to take into consideration that I may need floaty beach kaftans in December for work, and a thick winter coat for when I land home. Lately, I’ve started to update my shoe wardrobe, and selecting pieces that will take me from this late Indian Summer that we are expecting, into Autumn and the early stages of winter. Keeping fast fashion in mind, the Anushka knitted boot from Ego Official was chosen not just for the name, but for their ease of transitioning throughout the seasons.

With the weather being a rather tropical 20 degrees recently and expected to hit the mid twenties (we are so lucky), it’s been quite nice to wear outfits without having to think about the need for an umbrella. A classic black jersey midi dress was my choice of the day. Not too tight fitting, with room to move around, and although plain and simple in style, it can be dressed up or down. Teaming the dress with my favourite denim jacket, which I’ve had for an age, I feel smart yet not over dressed and prepared for the British weather.

Keeping my jewellery simple, I’ve worn a DanFrank Jewellery original beaded necklace with tassel detail and a ChloBo Hamsa Hand Rose Gold Bracelet. The Hamsa Hand is a protective sign and symbolises happiness, luck, health and happiness. I’ll be wearing this every day as it’s just what I need right now. As this is my first ChloBo bracelet, I am really looking forward to adding to my collection and wearing these as stackable bracelets, with each charm representing something important in my life.

Onto the boots. Oh, I adore these boots so much. Knitted, beige and with a high heel, they aren’t for someone who shies away from wearing heels. The Ego Official Anushka Knitted Boot is gorgeous and versatile. The heel is around 5 inches, and with no platform on the shoe, I was expecting some discomfort when walking, yet there was none. As the material of the boot sits snugly around the foot, it holds the foot in place with no sliding around inside the shoe. They’re actually one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes, aside from my slippers, that I’ve owned. The mid calf length did give me cause for concern with my muscular calves causing issues when it comes to boots, but I had no need to worry. With the colour and the shape of the boot, I found them to be really flattering on my leg, as well as making my legs look even longer. Although I’ve worn them with a midi dress to show them off today, they also look great with leggings and an oversized t.shirt, as well as an ultra glam LBD.

I’m really looking forward to bringing my wardrobe into the Autumn season. What key pieces will you be looking for to update your wardrobe?

With Summer in full swing, the festivals are reaching their pinnacle and my social media news feeds are jam packed full of girls wearing their take on festival fashion. A festival has never been high on the list of my things to do, and I simply cannot bear to get dirty, hence why I’ve never headed off to Glastonbury for a roll around in the mud. What I do love is the fashion. Although I am a bit too old for a floral garland, I am totally down with fringing, denim cut off shorts, boho prints and chunky ankle boots. Straying from my norm and heading out of my comfort zone, I decided to embrace the care free vibe of curvy girl festival clothing and I’ve put together some items that I wouldn’t necessarily wear, yet that I found to be one of my favourite outfits to date.

When putting together my outfit for today’s post, I wanted to mix two of the biggest trends in festival fashion, boho prints and fringing, but to keep them in my style. I chose items that made me step out of my classic neutral colour palette, although I still say that animal print is a neutral, and picked statement pieces to pull the outfit together. What I love about online shopping is seeing just how various websites style items and then putting my own spin on things.

The Simply Be Snake Skin Maxi Shirt Dress spoke my name as soon as I saw it. Sheer in fabric, I felt that this could be worn with so much. Worn open with a body con midi dress, or dressed up with white jeans and a cami, to a more beachy look of shorts and vest tops, I think it’s a really versatile piece, that although statement in design it can actually be over accessorised. I love how it sits on my body shape. It’s long enough for my 6ft frame, the sleeves sit in the right place on my arm and the seam under the bust isn’t too obvious so it doesn’t cut you off around the middle.

Pushing the boat out, I decided to team the dress with a short white slip and cinch in the middle with a belt that matched my shoes and bag. The cinching of the waist enhances the bust, which again, is totally out of my comfort zone, yet it looks sexy without showing off any skin. I’ve been dying to wear this huge Glamorous Over The Top statement necklace from Happiness Boutique, and I think it looks absolutely perfect. Considering it’s so big and intricate, it’s a pleasant surprise to wear as it doesn’t actually weight that much, nor does it catch on clothing or cause any pulls and bobbles.

I can’t say that I’ve ever owned anything with fringing, so to wear two items within one outfit is very unusual for me. Embracing the festival vibe, I added these Soul Diva Sued Fringe Boots into the mix. Another sale find, they were reduced from £69 to just £28. As the are wide fit, they sit comfortably on my foot without pinching and they also flatter my less than slender ankles.

No outfit is complete without a handbag to store your festival essentials so the Premium Suede Fringe Cross Body Bag ties in with the boots and compliments the dress really well. The cross body strap is slightly too short for my liking so I have been wearing it slung over my shoulder instead, but I love how the fringing falls on the bag. Again, another sale find, it was £50 reduced to just £24.

I’ve had such a good old shop lately searching for key pieces for summer that can go into autumn and winter, and I think with all components of this outfit, they will easily transition into the cooler and colder months. Pushing myself into festival chic fashion has had it’s advantages – I’ve discovered a new love for fringing and maxi shirts.

Since receiving some fantastic feedback from my fashion posts, I’ve decided to make a conscious effort to show more of my wardrobe to you. It’s quite a daunting feeling putting fashion posts on the blog, especially as I’m primarily a beauty blogger and as it’s so much less intimidating to show off my hands and lips when doing make up swatches. As I’m not a a petite slim twenty something, confidence is an issue when it comes to showing off full length shots of how I look, but thankfully, my posts have been embraced and people actually want to see more of this plus sized, curvy thirty something. Whether it’s because I’m catering more to a target audience, or because my sense of style is hitting a wider audience, I do not know, but what I do know is that your support is instilling a confidence in me that I didn’t think I had. For that, I thank each and everyone of you who takes the time to comment on my posts and share them to your friends.

With summer peeking through the clouds, I have chosen an outfit today that that is perfect for the warm weather. A garden party, a summer wedding or an afternoon out with friends, the little white dress replaces the classic little black dress to make it a more current and weather appropriate wear. Closet Curve by Closet London specialises in clothing in sizes 12-26. Whatever your size, you deserve to wear pretty clothes and dresses and I love brands that take their current offerings and make them available in larger sizes. Whilst sale shopping I spotted the Closet Curve White Tie Dress in the Simply Be sale via Love The Sales. Love The Sales has become my new go-to website for sales, and with everything under one website, it’s making sale shopping a heck of a lot easier. The Closet Curve dress is made of a crepe style material, that not only washes well, but irons easily. The cut of the dress is exceptionally flattering and as I have a large bust, I look for clothes that have pleats and darts in the right place that emphasise my figure, flatter my chest and show off my waist. I think this dress definitely ticks all the right boxes. I adore the longer floaty sleeves that cover up my dreaded upper arms, whilst the dress sits at the right length on my nearly 6ft frame, without being at all revealing. The simple yet effective wrap front dress is classy and sophisticated and makes the dress exceptionally wearable for a number of occasions.

I’ve paired my dress with two more finds from Love The Sales. The Biba Heels from House of Fraser were a fraction of the retail price, reduced from £79 to £41. Mint green in colour with a beautiful gold plated toe printed with the signature Biba print, they fit comfortably and look a lot more expensive than they actually are. The Biba logo adorns the ankle strap fastening, and the low heel gives legs a slim and slender shape. With the heel being a mere 3 inches, there is no pain on the leg when they are worn for long periods during the day, or night.

To say I’m a bit obsessed with Ted Baker is an understatement, so when the Ted Baker Tabatha Bag dropped into the sale at half the price, it was ordered and on its way within minutes of seeing it. A perfect sized bag in this seasons hottest colour of mint green, I was so excited for it to arrive. Having recently purchased a new Ted Baker purse, I couldn’t wait to get my bag. Featuring an enamel bar across the front of the bag, with winged edges, the bag is perfect for daytime. For a small bag, it’s surprising just how much can fit inside. With interior pockets to keep special items secure, and smaller pockets for phones and lipsticks, it’s just wonderful. I love the special touches; mini Ted Bakers embossed on the silver hardware and the zips with cut out T designs, the attention to detail on each piece of the bag is very special. The Tabatha bag seems to have sold out now but there are still some amazing bags in the Ted Baker Sale.

For someone who was never really that bothered about handbags, and was more concerned about the contents in it, I have been a bit busy lately adding some new pieces to my minimal collection. Don’t get me wrong, I have the standard girly collection of clutches for an evening, the odd designer piece to keep my Instagram jealousy under control and a few key styles to go with an outfit, but since I’ve been getting into fashion blogging, I’m getting obsessed. In the last few weeks, I’ve added a handful of bags to my collection and each one has been just perfect for what I wanted. Browsing House of Fraser, after a huge sale, I was looking at the new arrivals and spotted the beautiful Oasis Maggie tote bag. Grey, slouchy and perfect for every day use, I couldn’t resist.

I have a thing for greige at the moment. You know that off grey but not quite beige colour that seems to be oh so in right now. From heels to nail varnish, it’s appearing all over my house in various forms and it’s a shade that I find to not only be flattering to wear, but gives a neutral colour palette a bit of an edge. The Oasis Maggie Tote, although described as grey, is definitely a greige shade and combined with the pale rose gold hardware, it’s a bag of dreams.

Slouchy in style, the tote back has carry handles as well as a long strap to wear slung cross body, or simply from the shoulder. Although the material isn’t leather, it’s soft and supple and looks a lot more expensive than the £30 that she cost. Inside the tote is a removable pouch, so if you needed to carry larger items such as your laptop, then room isn’t an issue. I must admit, that I have just used the bag without the pouch for travelling and used the pouch itself for my toiletries. It’s very handy for travelling in that respect.

A perfect bag to take from desk to disco, it’s not too cumbersome whilst retaining its stylish shape. I also love the tassels that adorn the front of the bag, that can be removed if you so wish. It’s my new love, and I still can’t get over the bargain price for something that looks so expensive.

House of Fraser has all the new Oasis bags in stock and it’s like a grown ups playground right now. I’m still contemplating buying the Orange Maggie tote which has gone into the sale. Convince me!

Can you believe this weather that we are having? It’s amazing that the UK is finally getting some much needed blue skies and warm sun, but my wardrobe is so not equipped for UK hot weather. Sure, I have my long haul trip clothes, but I don’t want to be wearing the same clothes that I wear when away as I do at home. There has been only thing for it, and that has been to buy some new clothes. Luckily, there have been mid season sales on everywhere, so I have stocked up on basics, as well as some pretty new dresses and skirts. One essential item of clothing that I can’t live without is the summer maxi dress, cool enough for the day but easy to dress up ready for a night out.

I love JD Wlliams, and as a curvy girl, I find that I fit comfortably in everything from not only their designer range but their own brand range as well. I’ve got my hands on the most beautiful summer maxi dress from the Joanna Hope brand, and although it is in the sale and may not be around for much longer, the brand still has some gorgeous designs that will take you from day to night. The Joanna Hope Apricot Beaded Maxi was just what I was looking for. Elegant and stylish, the dress features some serious embellishment around the neckline. Heavily beaded did make me think that it may be too warm to wear in the summer, but the embellishment is actually lightweight sequins providing a touch of sparkle. Small sleeves cover up the tops of the arms, which is a winning factor for myself, and in keeping the neckline high, I can afford to show off a little leg.

The bottom half of the maxi dress is what really stood out for me. A short underskirt is covered by the long maxi length chiffon, with splits in the chiffon from the knew, which makes the dress have a lovely movement when walking. The underskirt is quite short, but it does sit quite well on my leg length, and as the neckline is high, the skirt can go a little shorter. It has quite an ethereal feel to the bottom of the dress and I did feel quite princessy whilst wearing it. I would like to get the dress slightly altered for future wear, as having to have a larger size to compensate for my bust means that the dress is quite large from the waist. A nip and tuck will make it sit perfectly.

I teamed my summer maxi dress with a gorgeous pair of Kurt Geiger sandals that I found in the sale at House of Fraser, through Love The Sales. This nifty little website searches all of the sales on major websites to bring them together in one place. Apart from being a genius idea, it’s also been quite addictive. Not only have I found shoes but I managed to have a huge haul on Simply Be, and stocked up my wardrobe. Happy days.

The Kurt Geiger Sale had the Delight sandals in Beige and they are just beautiful. Another shoe that I would be happy wearing during the day, or to jazz up an evening outfit without having to wear heels, the Delight sandals are an actual delight to wear. Surprisingly comfortable, the narrow beige snakeskin straps hold feet in place whilst the jewelled fronted sandals do the talking. I’ve had so many compliments on my sandals since owning them, that I have been telling everyone and anyone to buy them. They are in the sale after all!

Let’s hope this warm weather continues as I have got quite a few new outfits ready for the summer. What are your summer essentials?

For those of you who read my post last week on my beautiful dress from Chi Chi London, you would have seen my custom made shoes from Customised Bling Things. Reminiscent of Cinderella glass slippers, they were made to order by Victoria, the creative director of Customised Bling Things. After seeing my Cinderella shoes, I knew that Victoria would be staying in my life for upcoming events and parties where I need my shoes to do the talking. This time the brief was simple. A pair of wedges, carnival themed with blues being the main colour scheme and ready for the OMG! sales event at work.

My parcel arrived the day after Victoria had posted it out, carefully wrapped and covered in fragile tape. I can’t tell you how excited I was to open the box. Although I had seen photographs of the finished product, the real version is just amazing to see. Wrapped up securely in tissue and customised ribbon, which I think is such a beautiful touch, my shoes were careful protected in bubble wrap. I was overwhelmed when I opened the box. Blue and green, crystals, glitter, feathers. They were amazing. I’m going to have to let the pictures do the talking on this occasion.

As all shoes from Customised Bling Things are custom made to order, the prices can vary from £65 if you provide your own shoes, £85 without your own shoes and potentially more depending on the design. Victoria is great to work with especially if you have a specific idea in mind and she updates you periodically throughout the design period. I couldn’t imagine not having the luxury of having custom made shoes any more. For something so simple, it makes a huge difference to an outfit or event and the possibilities are endless. Imagine having one of a kind wedding shoes or just like me, carnival shoes.

Sometimes, I feel that the character of Cinderella is closer to the truth, rather than being a work of fiction. Spending the day in my scruffs whilst I bleach the kitchen floor, chasing Lucifer ( I mean Thomas) away from my couch before he digs his claws in, before having to slave over a hot stove to make a meal for oneself. But then, it only takes one dress to transform you into that Princess, casting your previous existance to the side. I’ve had that moment happen, and it was the moment that I stepped into the Chi Chi London Orlaith Dress. I have never felt so special in a piece of clothing before and believe me when I say that I had a hard time in taking it off. I wanted to stay as a modern day Cinderella forever.

Chi Chi London are a relatively new brand to me and their range is full of beautiful 1950’s style dresses. Think flared skirts, pretty petticoats and flattering necklines. It’s taken some time to build up confidence in myself to wear a top that enhances my chest, rather than a high neckline with a shorter length hem. I’ve been inspired by plus size bloggers George from Fuller Figure, Fuller Bust and Georgina from She Might Be Loved, who accentuate their assets, cinching in their waists and being proud of their cleavage. I have to finally admit to myself that they are there and there’s not a lot I can do and I do need to stop hiding them away under baggy tops and unflattering shapes.

Chi Chi London Orlaith Dress

The Chi Chi London Orlaith Dress in Powder Blue is so flattering, with its sweetheart neckline and fitted waist. I actually look like I have a small waist before the full skirt protrudes out before hitting the most flattering part of the leg. I don’t usually wear dresses with hems so long, but it sits at just the right place, making legs look slim and toned. To say I felt like a million dollars is an understatement. The quality of the fabric is beautiful and is fully lined with a double mesh underskirt. The plunge front has a mesh panel to conceal your modesty and the fitted bodice sits in the right places to create a sleek shape, whatever your size. I adore the open back, however a strapless bra needs to be worn as straps will be visible with a full bra. The dress that I am wearing is from the Chi Chi Curve section, however it is available in the regular section, starting from a size 8 up to a size 24.

I accessorised with a necklace that I borrowed from my mum, covered with a combination of bevelled and smooth crystal hearts on a silver chain. With a modern day Cinderella in mind, it was inevitable that I would be teaming the Orlaith dress with my custom made shoes from Customised Bling Things. These shoes were made with Cinderella in mind, and they are heavily glittered in silver to be reminiscent of Cinders glass slippers, complete with a jewelled swag across the back of the shoe.

For the races, a wedding or a Spring/Summer party, all of the dresses from Chi Chi London would fit the brief perfectly. After falling in love with Orlaith, I have set my sights on Gosia and Roxanne. I can see my wardrobe filling up with these beautiful Chi Chi dresses, especially as they’re all fantastically priced and come in under £80 per dress.

Have you tried anything from Chi Chi London? What did you think?

With the sun trying to peek through the grey clouds and the thought of Spring in the air, I’ve been more than ready to update my wardrobe and pack away those winter warmers. Although it seems like winter has dragged on for so many months, I am so ready for fresher weather, and swapping my black and white colour palette to my nude, neutral selection. I’ve been looking at party dresses recently as I have several events coming up and I’ve been particularly impressed with the party dress from Monsoon. In fact, whenever I do have a special event coming up, one of the first places I head to is Monsoon due to the exceptional quality and the girly, yet grown up pieces they have to offer. The Monsoon Ella Dress was love at first sight; ethereal in design and nude in colour. What more could I ask for?

In most dresses that I wear, I prefer to take the length short on the leg and cover up on the top as I feel that it accentuates my best features. The Monsoon Ella Dress is an Artisan piece and features the most beautiful hand crafted pearl and crystal embellishment upon the high lace neckline. The cap sleeves are great for covering up larger upper arms, a feature that I tend to look out for on most dresses that I choose. What I love most about the dress is the shape. As a larger busted lady, it’s often difficult to find dresses that don’t make me look too busty. I wish I had the confidence to pull of a cinched in waist and let the cleavage run free, but I am very set in my ways. A loose floaty dress is definitely my style, and one that doesn’t cling and hold onto lumps and bumps. The satin lining of the dress is slightly restricting on me, but if I went a size bigger, the dress itself was way too big.

The floatiness of the dress and the trapeze cut style make the Monsoon Ella Dress make me feel like a princess, whilst the dip of the side skirt gives the dress and classic feel and also adds some length to the shortness of the skirt. What struck me most about the Ella dress was just how beautifully crafted the lace was. I didn’t even realise the dress had buttons on the reverse until I tried it on.

I have teamed my Ella dress with a pair of killer heels from Kurt Geiger. The Glisten Heels in Pink were last season, but Kurt Geiger do have some pretty alternatives including the Native sandals.

Sunday was Valentine’s Day, a day of romance and a social media feed littered with Michael Kors watches and red roses. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always treated myself to a little Valentines present – after all, I love me. There is nothing more I love than spending a day on myself. From a good pampering session using my most loved luxury items, to a mani-pedi before curling up on the couch, with a good book and a cup of tea. This year, I have treated myself to some gorgeous pyjamas that also make great loungewear. I have a slight obsession with pjs, so I went for comfort combined with a touch of glamour and sophistication from Boux Avenue.

I’ve been wearing Boux Avenue pyjamas for quite some time, and after a store opened up within the airport, it’s been a little guilty pleasure of mine. You’d be quite surprised at how many times that I have ‘forgotten’ my pyjamas when I’ve checked in for a long haul flight. Any excuse to shop or what?!

I chose the Hydrangea satin pyjamas bottoms in a navy blue and floral design and combined them with the Hydrangea cowl neck top. Although the Fleur wraparound cardigan was from another design collection, I couldn’t resist making a part of my new set. I’m quite set in my ways with my pyjamas and often go for grey or white colours out of habit, so it’s quite nice to step out of my usual comfort colour zone and try something different.

The quality of Boux Avenue pyjamas is exceptional, which is why I go back to the brand time and time again. Not only do they feel soft and comfortable, but they wash well with no shrinking of the fabric. With satin bottoms, sometimes they do have a tendency to be quite restrictive whilst sleeping however on each occasion that I have worn them, they’ve been ever so comfortable and the trouser legs haven’t ridden up whilst I’ve been in bed. The slouchy jersey material of the t-shirt and cardigan also mean that they hug the body, and sit nicely making them perfect for lounging around.

I wouldn’t be bothered if I had unexpected guests turn up whilst I was wearing my Boux Avenue set, as I don’t feel scruffy or too casual in them. I’ve noticed that there are some great offers on the Boux Avenue website, including free vests with the purchase of pyjama pants and 3 for £12 knickers. For a gift to yourself or for someone special, a complimentary gift wrapping service is also available with the items being packed up in a lace effect tissue paper, scented white rose petals and placed in a beautiful gift box. There’s also free UK delivery on orders over £40 and free worldwide delivery on orders over £60.

As a special treat, I am also offering my readers a 20% discount on their purchases with my code – ANOUSHKA20 so why not treat yourself to something special. I know that I will be reordering again very soon!

I’ve been looking into my wardrobe lately and I have decided that 2016 is the year for a big overhaul. Although I don’t care for a capsule wardrobe, I feel that at the age of 33, I need a collection of key pieces and stylish garments for all occasions. With that in mind, I’ve been looking at clothes that flatter my body shape and are in keeping with my personal style. I’m not usually a fan of black colour palette but after attending a recent event in Leeds for the La Redoute Christmas Party, I fell head over heels in love with the La Redoute Tux Dress by Laura Cléments*.

La Redoute is a brand that although has been around for some considerable time, it has totally fallen under my radar. year ago, I recall being on the mailing list but at the time, the clothes were a little too mature for my late teens/early twenties style. Fast forward a decade or so and La Redoute have totally tickled my tastebuds. With a great range of flirty skirts, chiffon blouses and sophisticated dresses, I was really spoilt for choice in my hunt for a new outfit for New Years Eve.

The La Redoute Tux Dress by Laura Cléments gives the illusion of being an oversized men’s tuxedo jacket but cut to flatter a woman’s shape. The dress sits nicely above the knee, however I am 5ft 10, so dependant on height it could vary. What I love about the tux dress is how deeply cut the v neckline is. I’ve worn a black lace bandeau top underneath so there is a very brief glimpse of skin from straight under the bra to the tip of the V. When wearing the dress, I thought that extra flash of skin just gave it that added sexiness, especially as I wore the dress teamed with black tights for my night out – it was very cold out! Whilst the dress looks like a wraparound dress, it’s actually just an illusion and the dress contains a full skirt with the added material to complete the look of the dress. Perfect for non exposure if it’s windy outside. The long sleeves are also a welcome addition, not only for the winter months, but because it takes me outside of my comfort zone of wearing floaty cap sleeves.

With a dress like this, you can indulge in wearing brightly coloured accessories just like these shoes from Topshop. I’ve had these for a few years now so they aren’t available to buy but they are one of my most loved pairs. High in heel and platform and the softest suede upper, the zip edged flower decorations make these fun and flirty.

I have developed a new found love for La Redoute and I have already started building a wishlist on the La Redoute website. With the quality of the dress, and its simple yet stylish design, the La Redoute Tux dress fits in with how I want my wardrobe to be – smart, classic and sophisticated.

Have you tried La Redoute? How would you style this tux dress?

I’ve been a little bit of a social butterfly lately and I’ve been attending more events than I have outfits for, which isn’t good when you are being photographed and documenting your fashion journey. I needed a new outfit for the HOOP Charity Ball; a fabulous evening filled with live music, food and bubbles. I’ve been finding that I’ve been heading into Debenhams a lot lately, as their Designers by Debenhams range has had so many lovely items in stock that I’ve been spoilt for choice. For an evening out in late November, where style, comfort and class was a must, I had an outfit in mind that would work well for a charity ball and that wouldn’t look out of place if I headed out for further festivities after the ball was over.

The HOOP Charity Ball was organised by Ledigo PR at Hotel Football at Old Trafford, Manchester. The Winter Wonderland themed ball was to raise funds for the charity HOOP ( Helping Overcome Obesity Problems) whilst letting hair down and having a great night with ambassadors of the charity and special guest, Dr Chris from This Morning. The event was hosted by Key 103’s Mike Toolan with live music from Liam McClair and Jake Quickenden. A three course dinner with drinks and dancing rounded off the evening and it was so lovely to spend time with my friends and local celebrities. Each and every single event that I have attended that has bee organised by Ledigo PR has been meticulously planned right down to the smallest detail, and the HOOP Ball was no exception.

Putting together an outfit that was glamorous enough for a ball yet versatile enough for further drinks afterwards lead to me to Designers at Debenhams and in particular Nine by Savannah Miller. A capsule collection of key pieces that can be taken from day to night, filled with stylish and versatile fashion. I chose the Nine by Savannah Miller Cosmic Print Shift Dress* due to it’s relaxed style yet edgy glamour. Long sleeved and a high neckline meant that the baring of my legs did the talking whilst the deep v cut back showed off some skin without being too revealing whilst still maintaining an air of elegance. The exposed zip that runs down the back of the dress keeps it up to date with recent trends and the cosmic print is very subtle but all the while, giving it a high fashion finish. I found that the dress runs true to size and as usual, I bought a size bigger so I didn’t have any fabric clinging to lumps and bumps, however in hindsight I should have stuck to my dress size. One day I will learn to be comfortable in my own size – it’s going to happen. Although I got the dress for the ball, it wouldn’t look out of place for any occasion. I think it would work well teamed with black tights and boots for a day time look, or even worn for work and with a quick change of shoes, bag and jewels it can be taken from office to dance floor.

I wanted to keep things simple in the accessories department as I wanted to wear a striking pair of shoes with my dress and didn’t want to over accessorise. My jewellery had just enough sparkle to catch the light but didn’t distract from the overall look of the outfit. As I was wearing my hair down, I wanted a pair of light catching earrings and these crystal drop vintage earrings were just what I was after.

I do love a good clutch bag and I only have requirements when it comes to selecting the right one. It must be big enough to fit my iPhone 6s Plus, a small purse and minimal make up inside and it must have a chain attached for those times when I can’t bothered carrying it, or need the extra security of wrapping the chain around my wrist for if I’m out in crowds. The Star by Julian MacDonald Black Bar Tab Clutch* is a perfect size for fitting in the essentials and looks so much more expensive than its £25 price tag. The mock croc pattern makes the clutch ideal for an evening out and it’s subtle design adds an edge of glamour. If, unlike me, you don’t like an internal chain then it can be removed, and the addition of an internal pocket within the bag can conceal any valuables such as your cash and cards.

I’ve been dying to wear my Public Desire Jodi Aqua Blue shoes for ages but I’ve never had an ocassion to wear them until now. I thought that the aqua blue colour was a perfect complement to the black outfit and to give it that extra edge. Although they don’t look particularly high, the heel is 5 inches and if you aren’t used to walking on such height without a platform, be prepared for achey feet the day after. Aside from the heel height and achey feet the day after, I actually found them to be one of the more comfier pair of heels that I own. As the shoe is a cage around your feet with adjustable laces at the heel, they can be loosened or tightened as necessary and even when your feet swell with the heat, the body of the shoes doesn’t dig into any part of your foot. The faux suede material is really soft and cushions the foot, making them easy to walk, strut and dance around in.

With 15 different Designers at Debenhams, you won’t be short of any ideas for your next night out or event. Why not take a look at the Debenhams Christmas Occasionwear so you can be ready for Christmas and heading into the New Year.

Well, this is a slightly more adventurous post for me and a massive step outside of my comfort zone. Even though I have a massive interest in fashion, I’d much rather be putting pictures of my lipstick coated lips on my blog than my outfits, but I thought it was about time that I gained a bit of confidence and started sharing my outfits. Over the Christmas period, I have decided to share ‘What I Wore’ for certain events and evenings out. Hopefully, I’ll start to get a bit more confident in front of the camera, but until then, I’m quite happy with my slightly shaky, at home photos. I hope you enjoy the first of my ‘What I Wore’ series, in collaboration with George at Asda for the #GeorgeChristmas campaign.

Although Christmas hasn’t officially started, I’ve been invited to so many Festive events and it’s been such a fantastic opportunity to start ringing in Christmas as well as seeing some of my favourite bloggers. This evenings event called for glitz and glamour for drinking champagne with the girls and I thought that it was about time that I had the chance to wear my gorgeous sequin shift dress from Asda*. Rose gold sequins? Yes please! I’m a total rose gold addict at the moment and I seen to have picked up several pieces of clothing in this colour scheme. Still neutral enough in the colour palette for my liking, but with added sparkle to make sure it shouted ‘It’s Christmas!’

Being nearly 6ft tall, and very curvy, I like to show off my legs rather than anything else so the V neck cut of the dress is very flattering on the bust without showing any cleavage. The length of the dress is perfect for my liking and also risque enough for an evening out. Short sleeves cover up the upper arms whilst the fabric contains enough stretch to be able to move around comfortably.

I’ve decided to team my high street dress with high end shoes and I’ve paired them with my light bronze lamé Lottie sandals from Jimmy Choo. I rarely get the opportunity to wear these with the awful weather we have, so I thought as the event was a dinner and dance, they would be perfect. I also used my matching Cayla bag (not pictured). I kept jewelley simple with a discreet pair of Pandora Sparkling Star studs and Rose Gold Entwined Ring and wore my Tanya Bardsley Dreams to Reality Angel Wing Pendant.

For my make up, I used The Dolce Vita Palette from Charlotte Tilbury and created a heavy smoky eye, and kept lips simple with a pale pink matte liquid lipstick from Sephora. I felt like the belle of the ball.

I hope you enjoyed my very first ‘What I Wore’ post and I will be sharing with you my Christmas Day outfit very soon.
Thank you to Asda for providing me with my gorgeous dress for #GeorgeChristmas

Selfridges’ first AW15 fashion scheme will consider STRENGTH – and its connotations of potency and endurance. Through STRENGTH, Selfridges will seek to illustrate that Luxury is not more, but a potent less. It is about all, and nothing. It is a lifestyle that is reduced, but more concentrated.

Strength at Selfridges

When Selfridges do a campaign, they do it so well and Strength at Selfridges explores fashion and the materiality, techniques, ideas and fabrications. The focus of the project will be the strength of the design and the strength of character and will be displayed in store and online. Launched at Manchester International Festival this month, Strength at Selfridges will be continuing on into August through different fashion activities. With an exclusive collaboration with MIF, the three minute film Strength has been created and directed by Ruth Hogben and stars Marie Agnes Gillot and Travis Clausen Knight. The film has been showing as an art installation at Exchange Sq and Oxford Street, and you can watch the full film here.

As part of the Strength at Selfridges project, Selfridges have unveiled a £3 million masterplan on their designer womenswear floor. Featuring new boutiques from Valentino, Givency and Jimmy Choo, they sit next to existing boutiques from Alaia, Celine and Balenciaga. The entire womenswear floor offers a world of designers in a luxury setting. Jane Sharrocks, General Manager of Selfridges Exchange Square, said: “We couldn’t be more pleased with the look and feel of womenswear here at Exchange Square. As a business, we’ve invested three million pounds into womenswear to create an international fashion destination. The mix of boutique concepts alongside a carefully selected edit of contemporary
and luxury womenswear and shoe brands from around the world – enhanced by unique Selfridges’ experiences – is first-class. I can’t wait see the reaction of our customers, both loyal and new.”

As well as having a huge makeover, Selfridges have also secured the exclusive rights for the largest Christian Louboutin boutique outside of London. The Louboutin boutique carries the entire range of ladies footwear and accessories, as well as the mens range and from the 1st August, the full beauty range will also be available.

Personal shopping has also had a revamp and a new 70 metre space has been created that can hold up to fifteen people. Perfect for bridal parties or special occasions, it will enhance the personal shopping experience. I’ve also heard that there is a brand new beauty personal shopping experience coming soon – follow Selfridges Beauty on Instagram for up to date and exclusive items.

With so much going on with Selfridges at the moment, I think it’s only fair that I test out the personal shopping experience and try on some Louboutins. I wonder what my credit card will say?!
