Christmas Eve has forever been my favourite day of the Christmas period, for as long as I can remember. From being a child where I remember sitting in front of the fire, colouring in my Christmas colouring book whilst watching films that I had circled in the TV Times. We would then head out as a family to our favourite restaurant before driving home, listening to Christmas songs and looking into the sky for the lights on Santa’s sleigh. New pyjamas would be waiting for my sister and I upon our return, and this tradition continued until we became too old to believe. Even when we got older, new pyjamas and Christmas movies featured heavily and to this day, I love nothing more than settling on the couch with a box of chocolates whilst Elf and Home Alone play. The traditions of Christmas Eve may vary per family, but I have the fondest memories and new traditions that have started make me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

The Christmas Eve box seems to have made quite a stir over social media as of late, and I really wanted to start my own. A selection of products that I can look forward to on the run up to the big day. I’ve chosen the most beautiful personalised box to hold my special items in ready for Christmas. The personalised wooden box is from the geniuses at I Just Love It, my first port of call for a special personalised gift. Having a name like mine, I am really appreciative of the ease of getting a gift or product printed with my, or the recipients name.

Inside my box, I have a brand new pair of Christmas pyjamas as it wouldn’t be Christmas without them. As soon as I locked eyes on the Dickens and Jones Xmas Drummer Boys pyjama set at House of Fraser, I couldn’t stop thinking about them. At £45, I couldn’t quite stretch to them with all the presents that I had to buy but after browsing Love The Sales, they appeared in the House of Fraser sale. I’m so happy. Red, with miniature pillar boxes and drummer boys snow scene printed over them, they are so adorable plus the cotton fabric feels warm and soft against my skin. I also couldn’t resist these cheeky Primark reindeer slipper socks to wear with them. I actually think Primark slippers are the best, I am always getting new pairs.

My Christmas movies selection doesn’t have any film in it that you wouldn’t expect to see. Home Alone 1 and 2 are guaranteed, with Home Alone 2 being my favourite, even more so now I’ve experienced the Rockefeller Centre at Christmastime. Elf, A Christmas Carol and The Snowman are also present; Elf as I love it so much, A Christmas Carol because of the tradition and The Snowman because my sister cried when he melted.

It’s only this time of year that I allow myself to be as indulgent as I have been doing and watching films means eating christmas chocolates. The finest chocolate that a girl can have has to be Lindt, and my love for Lindor has never faded. A sharing box of Lindor in Original, Dark, Praline and White will keep me busy, until I bite the head off my giant Lindt bear. He’s so adorable in his little red jumper and iconic Lindt necklace, and 200g of Lindt chocolate is just way too appealing right now.

If I was really going to push the boat out, I’d be cracking open a bottle of Ruby Port to sip whilst getting cosy. After all, it’s only Christmas once a year.

What are your Christmas Eve traditions?

The success of YouTubers at the moment is unbelievable. From books to beauty, the girls next door who we have grown up with are literally ruling the world. Being older than their target audience, I’ve shied away from trying products from the likes of Zoella and Tanya Burr, with the image in my mind that I’m a bit too old to appreciate the twee packaging and cutesy sets. I don’t usually have advent calendars, as the majority of the time I am rarely in the UK during the month of December but this year, I decided that a beauty advent calendar was going to get me through the month. Rather than having a 24 day calendar, the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Advent Calendar has 12 days of beauty gifts, and from today – the 14th, my calendar will be giving me a daily treat right up until Christmas Day.

You may have already seen the spoilers of the calendar on social media, however each day I will be posting my beauty goodies on my Instagram page. If you don’t already follow me, head over and click follow now. Starting today with Day One, I’m looking forward to not only seeing festive themed shades and shade names, but I am actually really looking forward to seeing the quality and formulations of Burrs products. With me being a new user of Tanya Burr Cosmetics, and having heard mixed reviews, I’m really open to to giving my full and frank thoughts of the Christmas cosmetic range.

The Tanya Burr Cosmetics Advent Calendar has been designed for the girly-girl and in hues of pastel pink and mint green with golden accents, the Tanya house is actually really quite pretty. The top of the box is covered in white glitter to mimic snow, whilst you see Tanya and Jim’s silhouette in one of the windows. 12 perforated window openings hide 12 beauty products behind ready for the festive season. Each shade of each item is specially designed for the festive season so these won’t be available to buy all year round, but the full Christmas collection from Tanya Burr Cosmetics does feature these shades if you wanted to buy them as stocking fillers.

Opening Day One led me straight to a new lip gloss in Candy Cane; a subtle deep raspberry pink with micro glitter particles. The packaging is very festive – a clear tube with gold lid, and shows off the colour within, whilst the subtle branding is emblazoned down the side. Although the packaging does feel a little cheap, the formula of the lip gloss has won me over in a way that I would have never imagined. On the first swatch onto my hand, I was really quite shocked at the pigmentation and opacity of the gloss, but after I put it onto my lips, I was left wondering why I had never given them a chance before. Just look how opaque and glossy it is. To say I was impressed was possibly an understatement and it has made me consider getting a few more items of Tanya Burr Cosmetics to see how well the perform compared to some of my other favourite brands.

I’m sorry to have to tell you that the chances of getting hold of the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Advent Calendar are slim to none right now but keep checking my Instagram for the daily reveal and in the New Year, lets treat ourselves to some of the collection.

Well, would you look at that. It’s December, and it’s time for Blogmas 2016. Blogmas means blogging every day in December, and although generally as a rule, I usually blog daily, December is different. Believe me when I say weeks and weeks of planning has gone into Decembers content and although it feels like I was telling myself it was too soon at one point, it’s soon crept up. Over the next four weeks, I am going to try and steer away from past Blogmas posts such as gift guide round ups, and focus more on my home, lifestyle, travel and of course, fashion and beauty. I want this years content to be more of a reflection of me. What i’m doing for Christmas, places I go and what I am wearing, all with a Christmas theme throughout. It feels fitting that today, the 1st of December, showcases getting in the Christmas spirit and how I have decorated my home so far.

I love how I can blame the blog as the reason for why I do things. The 25th November was particularly early for me to put the tree up, but I’m so glad I did as I’ve been able to get on with so much stuff for December without having to worry about background decor and time spent to put an 8ft tree up. I do love how my house looks with the addition of the festive decorations, and combined with it going dark at 4pm, it feels delightfully cosy in my house right now. The room smells beautiful from the festive scented candles and rooms sprays and I’ve taken complete pleasure in cosying up on the couch, in my loungewear to watch episode after episode of Gilmore Girls on Netflix. I’m almost caught up, just season 7 to go.

My room has been scented with the Crabtree & Evelyn Noel scent. After using Windsor Forest last year, which was simply divine, I decided to go for a more traditional approach this year. Noel is described as mulled spice scents mingled with green notes of Fraser fir spruce and the zest of festive citrus fruits. It’s beautiful, warming and homely in one scent and it doesn’t have that intensity of cinnamon like some other Christmas scents have. It’s far more delicate, yet sharp on the citrus notes with enhance the green notes. I have the Botanical Candle which is decorated with cinnamon sticks and apple slices around the exterior of the hand poured candle. Suitable for smaller rooms as it gives off a lighter scent, I prefer this style of candle for my coffee table as it’s so close to where I sit. I can smell the scent, without being overwhelmed. The Noel Room Spray has freshened up my Christmas tree with it’s fresh, festive scent and a few sprays into the corners of the room each day is enough to keep the scent fresh all day.

Deepening the scents throughout my home, I’ve placed The English Soap Company candle in Merry Christmas in my hall. The warming scent of winter flowers and festive greens compliments the Crabtree & Evelyn scent without it being overkill. It’s so nice when people walk in my house and compliment me on how it smells, it makes me so happy. The English Soap Company candle is made with pure soy wax which makes for an cleaner burn and a soot-free environment. Soy wax also lasts a lot longer than traditional paraffin wax and retains the fragrance a lot better.

I’m so happy with how my home looks this year and although I say each year that I don’t need anything else to decorate my home with, I’m almost certain that there are going to be a few new additions. I’m thinking icicle lights outside and maybe a light up reindeer. I do love reindeer if you couldn’t tell.

Is your tree up? How soon is too soon to be festive?

It’s official, the countdown to Christmas is on. I don’t care if its too early, but this week marks the opening of two of the most Christmassy experiences which I am so excited about. The first experience is the opening of the Manchester Christmas Markets, but I will go into more detail about that on a later date. The second is the Selfridges Ice Rink at the Trafford Centre. As Selfridges is the home of luxury, the ice rink is one of the most luxurious experiences in the country.

Selfridges Ice Rink Trafford

If you are a lover of Selfridges and have visited the stores lately, you will have seen that they have gone all out with the beautiful decorations depicting the theme for this year ‘Storytelling’. From the Enchanted Spells calendar, to the rich forest greens and sparkling golds, Christmas at Selfridges is bringing the enchantment of magic and fairytales to life.

The bespoke covered Selfridges Ice Rink at the Trafford Centre holds up to 120 skaters, guaranteeing a great skate whatever the weather. Food and drink concessions will be available throughout the time the rink is open too. The rink is open from today until the 4th January so you have plenty of time to pop down and skate away. Whether you are a beginner or Torvill and Dean, there will be Ice Marshalls on hand to help out or help you brush up on your skills. I couldn’t imagine a more Festive day.

Ticket prices are as follows:

It’s the end of October and after this evening, I will be in full blown Christmas countdown. I know it’s early but life as a blogger means that Christmas press releases have been dropping into my inbox since September. I am really excited about sharing some of these amazing gift sets with you and today is continuing on with the delights from Too Faced. After checking the Debenhams website, the Christmas beauty sets are now on sale and there is one set in particular which a few people have been waiting for. Lets have a closer look at the Too Faced Christmas Gift Sets.

First of all is the Too Faced La Belle Carousel which unfortunately is a USA only set. I would definitely recommend this as a present, and if you are making a Sephora order I would make no qualms about popping it in my basket. I have reviewed and swatched this multitude of palettes within a palette set and I can’t get enough of the gorgeous colours and christmas themed eye shadow names.

Too Faced La Belle Carousel

The Too Faced Everything Nice set is the greatest value set that I have seen in a long time. 20 shadows, 2 blushes, 2 bronzers, 3 brushes and a mascara, all in a glittery makeup bag and all for the bargain price of £45. Simply amazing. I can imagine that this won’t be around for long.

Too Faced Everything Nice Gift Set

I know a lot of people who have been waiting for this little set to hit the shelves and I must admit that I did look for it in Macys and Sephora last week. The Too Faced Melted Kisses Christmas Gift Set contains four deluxe tubes of the Melted Liquified Lipsticks in Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Berry and Melted Fuchsia. I have two of the full size colours and I adore them. For £22 for the four, its a great way to try out these long wear lip colours that retail at £19 each.

Too Faced Christmas Gift Sets

If a creme lipstick is more your thing then then the Too Faced Under The Mistletoe Christmas Gift Set, £27 will be perfect. Three of Too Faced’s top selling colours; Naked Dolly, Marshmallow Bunny and Spice Spice Baby have been updated with a christmassy shimmer. With a gorgeous pink glittery bag, these colours are in keeping with the party season.

Too Faced Christmas Gift Sets

The Too Faced Beauty Wishes and Sweet Kisses is packed full of face favourites. Chocolate infused shadows from the famous Chocolate Bar palette, the chocolate soleil bronzer and the pretty Snow Bunny bronzer and illuminator. With a deluxe sized lip gloss in Naked Dolly, this kit is a handbag essential at just £32.

Too Faced Christmas Gift Sets

Have you got your eye on any of the Too Faced Christmas Gift Sets? Which ones will you be hoping to find under your Christmas tree?

Follow:

Well, my post on the Too Faced La Belle Carousel was one of my most popular posts to date, and with that I made you swoon with delight then crush your dreams by letting you know that you would be unable to purchase it in the UK. I’ve looked on Sephora and it is shippable, however taxes and shipping come to £30 which is scandalous. To try and restore order and calm, I’m going to show you the next best thing, which is in fact slightly bigger in size and just as gorgeous as the La Belle Carousel. Say hello to the Too Faced Everything Nice Gift Set.

Its release date is October, although there is no sign of it on Debenhams as of yet. It will be priced at an exceptionally reasonable £48 and some may recognise it as the updated ‘A Few of My Favourite Things’ gift set that was available last Christmas.

‘Too Faced have put ‘Everything Nice’ in this all-in-one festive makeup palette. The set combines their best-sellers including Better Than Sex Mascara, antioxidant-rich Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, Cruelty Free Teddy Bear Hair brushes and cult classic eye shadows with exclusive NEW shades. So versatile you can create any look you want and take it wherever you go in the party-ready pink glitter zip bag.’

I know its ridiculously early to be dropping the C-Bomb, and I promise that I will try and refrain from mentioning anything to do with the holiday season until at least mid October, but I have to let you know about the Beauty Advent Calendars of 2014. Several companies released their own Beauty Advent Calendars last Winter however they sold out rather quickly and left a lot of people broken hearted, I’m blaming you Benefit, and I had to settle for a Percy Pig calendar instead. Here’s my guide to the best of the best of beauty advent calendars for Christmas 2014.

Beauty Advent Calendars 2014

First up is the Benefit Cosmetics advent, priced at £60. The Candy Coated Countdown is top of my list for the festive period. Containing 24 beauty treasures and mini Benefit goodies which are so cute, this calendar will be available at Benefit and Debenhams from the 16th October.

Beauty Advent Calendars 2014

Exclusive to Selfridges, and comes in three special designs, the Ciate Mini Manor is one of my favourites for advent choice. With 17 mini colours, 5 texture paints, a full size polish and festive transfers, I’d find it hard to not open the entire thing in one day. At just £49, that’s a lot of polish for not a lot of pennies.

Beauty Advent Calendars 2014

The Selfridges Enchanted Spells advent calendar doesn’t have a release date just yet, but I can guarantee that it won’t be around for long. With 24 mini luxury items, I would be head over heels in love with this! Mini goodies include Kiehls, YSL, Lancome and Viktor & Rolf.

beauty-calendar-new

The most luxurious and expensive out of the bunch, the Liberty advent calendar costs a whopping £149. Designed in gorgeous Liberty print, natch, and filled with top notch brands such as NARS, Eve Lom, Dermalogica and Deborah Lippman, this really is the one to be lusting after. I need it! It should be in store and online by November. Shop the Liberty Calender here.

Beauty Advent Calendars 2014

The biggest bargain award goes to No7 for their £35 calendar that contains products to the value of £130 including the new wonder cream, Protect and Perfect. Not only is there a gift every day on the run up to Christmas, but you even get one on Christmas Day. Extra presents, wahoo! No release dates as of yet, but I will update as soon as I find out!

Which Beauty Advent Calendar 2014 takes your fancy? Can I have 5 calendars please?

Wowwweee what a lucky girl I have been this Christmas. I have been totally spoilt and I am over the moon with all my presents. Each year I write a list of ideas for people to choose from, and as I normally want make up, I like to think that ‘The List’ is a helpful tool for all involved. I never expect everything off the list, plus more so imagine my surprise this year when I opened my presents and saw everything that I’d asked for plus more!

This is what I have been spoilt with this Christmas!

I really really don’t want to use my TF lipstick, its far too beautiful but I’m sure when I do, I will let you all know. And of course, I can’t forget that I got socks as well! I treated myself to a Pre Christmas present of the Naked 3 palette and I’m being very good by not partaking in the January Sales. What a fabulous Christmas I have had.

What did you get for Christmas? If you have written a Christmas Present blog post, I would love to read it 🙂
