After weeks of waiting since my last post on the MAC Viva Glam Rihanna launch, Thursday saw the launch of both the lipstick and lipglass to the MAC website. Funnily enough, I had had a conversation with Stacey from Expatmakeuaddict that I was expecting the Viva Glam Rihanna to arrive on Thursday around lunchtime. I’m not sure If that means that I have way too much time on my hands that I have worked out the pattern, or I really am addicted to MAC!
So, I ordered Thursday at 11.15am, and at 8am Saturday morning, a sleek black package arrived filled with my brand new Viva Glam goodies for myself and my Mommy. How’s that for speedy service? Pretty impressive I think.
The MAC Viva Glam Rihanna packaging was the first thing that jumped out at me. I was expecting the limited edition casing but to look at it in real life, its just incredible. Its textured and red in colour but looks black in areas when held up to the light. Its gorgeous!
The MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick is a blue-red with a frost finish. It glides on and stays on which is brilliant for a frost on me. I got approximately 4 hours of wear out of it before I needed to reapply and maybe around 3 hours when wearing it with the Lipglass on top. The tones of the lipstick work well with my colouring and I find the colour isn’t too harsh or overbearing.
The MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipglass is also a blue red with a frost finish. It reminds me of glittery strawberry ice cream sauce. Its consistency is lovely and thick, yet it isn’t over sticky. Its not opaque in colour, but gives a beautiful red tint with suspended glitter particles within the colour.
As a huge MAC lipstick lover, it was natural that I was to be buying this however for once, this is an impulsive buy that has certainly lived up to its expectations. I would have been gutted if the colour was too similar to others. I’m so so pleased with it and if you haven’t yet bought it, go and buy it. I’ve heard it will be staying in the collection for 6 months to a year.
Have you tried the MAC Viva Glam Rihana range yet? What do you think?
