Ok, so first of all I wanted to say a little sorry that I have hardly posted. One of those ‘life gets in the way’ moments and a severe lack of motivation, on top of a lot of work in the day job and quite a lot of time spent with jet lag has made for a huge blog disruption. The next few days of blogging will be spent catching up on things, with a focus on monthly subscription boxes. Today will be an insight into the amazing Cohorted box, which you all know how much I love, whilst tomorrow’s post will be a new kind of subscription box. Watch this space! So, back to today and the June Cohorted box. I didn’t receive a box last month, and I was totally gutted when I saw the contents, so when the June box landed on my doorstep, I couldn’t express my delight especially when I saw what was inside.
The Cohorted boxes are the most difficult beauty boxes in the land to get hold of, and I know from feedback and general tweets, everyone wants to get hold of one. With just 300 being made per month, they are rarer than hens teeth and I feel so fortunate that I am able to work with Cohorted on a monthly basis and experience these boxes. The boxes cost just £19.99 and in this months box, the contents added up to a whopping £73 including the surprise product.
In this months box, there’s not one but two products from Cargo. I have never tried any Cargo products before, and I just do not know why. The Cargo ‘Let’s Meet In Paris’ eyes hadow palette, RRP £35 is simply beautiful and has become quite a firm favourite of mine. Buttery soft shadows, all bar one packed full of shimmer and I have been creating some beautiful gold and bronze looks which I have been loving. I’ll be revisiting this palette in a future post, so keep an eye out.
The second Cargo product is the Bronzer in Ligh, RRP £20. Packaged in a metal tin with twist off lid, this is quite possibly my favourite packaging of all my bronzers. There will be no brown dust covering the inside of my make up bag any more! It’s a very natural looking golden bronze, which is suitable for all skin tones. Although I am a medium skin tone, the Cargo bronzer adds a glow to my natural colour, rather than a full on bronzed hue.
A mini size Essie from the Summer 2014, RRP £5, is inside the box, and I’m so glad it’s a mini size. I have hundreds of nail polishes and I struggle to get through them all, so a mini polish is greatly appreciated. Roarrrange is a bright, bold orange and looks amazing on my toes, ready for sandal weather.
Finally, the secret product in my box is a MAC eyeshadow in Shroom, £13. I’ve had Shroom on my wishlist for ages now, as it is a perfect inner corner and brow bone highlight colour. I was almost certain that Shroom was more of a flatter, less dimensional shade, but when swatched and blended in, it is the most gorgeous beige shimmer with white pearly highlight. I can’t wait to depot it and put it in my palette.
I am, once again, so impressed with the quality and selection of products that Cohorted have put in their box this month. They actually just keep getting better and better. Unfortunately, pre orders for the July box have once again sold out, but for future reference, the 15th of each month is usually when the pre-orders are released, as well as the first of the month. If you do manage to get hold of the box, Cohorted are hiding a high end product in 5 of the boxes. From brands such as Urban Decay, Hourglass and Anastasia Beverly Hills, it’s an extra special treat if you are lucky enough to get one of those!
