Another month and yet another subscription box. I’m talking Birchbox today and it’s time for the February 2016 box. When I think about just how long I’ve been getting the Birchbox for now, it does make me wonder just how they manage to keep things fresh. I seriously haven’t had any disappointment with any of the boxes in such a long time and this month is no exception. Not only does the February 2016 Birchbox contain the usual beauty samples that we have grown accustomed to, but it also has a lifestyle extra and the inclusion of the new in house cosmetic line from Birchbox – LOC.
The February box is in keeping with the positive vibes of the January box, with the Shine Bright Like A Diamond theme. Not only is the design sparkly, but there are also two chances to win a super sparkly diamond. There will be one lucky box with a £200 diamond necklace within it, as well as the chance to win by sharing a photo on social media. See page six of the Birchbox brochure for more details.
Inside this months box has some brilliant samples and I’m really pleased to see the Ole Henrikson Truth Serum Collagen Booster. This handy travel sized pump will be a god send on my trips and I’m really starting to fall for the Ole Henrikson brand after using the cleansing milk from last months box.
The Ayres Body Butter is a small slice of luxury and also a brand that I haven’t heard of before. It’s made up of vitamin E and Shea Butter and mixed with jasmine, lavender and ylang-ylang. It’s smells divine, and sinks into my skin so fast that dry patches don’t know what’s coming.
I’m so happy to see another product from The Balm Cosmetics and Frat Boy blush/shadow is a shade that I haven’t had chance to try yet. I went through a phase of wanting everything by The Balm and Frat Boy was firmly at the top of my list. I’m so pleased I can try it now before I do buy the full size version of this rosy glow blush that is so pigmented, it gives such a radiant glow.
I’ve been dying to try Spectrum Brushes for ages and it’s nothing to do with the pink handled, blue and purple bristled brushes. They’re like brushes for unicorns, I love them. Super soft and gentle, the Tapered Powder Brush is really precise and makes applying powder incredibly easy.
LOC is the newest brand from Birchbox and stands for Love of Colour. In my box, I got the One and Done Shadow Stick in Perfect Cents. It gives up to 11 hours of wear, without creasing and is waterproof. As I always do with make up, I swatched and left it on my hand without rubbing to see just how long it can withstand. Now, I’m talking hours of wear here, even with washing my hands. Amazing.
This months lifestyle extra is the L’Erikson Grab and Go Ponytail Holder which is a metal free hair tie. It’s really sturdy and holds my hair in place with no problems, however I must advise you to not use it when creating a messy top knot – I struggled to get my hair untangled!
You can purchase a single Birchbox or take out a subscription that suits you using my referral code which also gives you £5 worth of points to spend in the Birchbox shop. What are you waiting for!
