Beauty boxes are one of the most popular items recently. There are several companies each with their own subscription service and some, as expected, are better than others. I often share the love for boxes like Birchbox, especially when I can shop for the full sized products directly from their site. I have been a huge fan of Cohorted and the fabulous way that they give you the oppoertunity to get those big brand cosmetics at a reduced price. Last month they launched their very own subscription box, the Cohorted Beauty Box* and it had quite mixed reviews. Undettered, I knew I needed to get my mitts on the March box to see just how well it performed in this niche market of beauty boxes.
The box itself straight away stood out to me with its glossy finish and luxe bow that sets it apart from others. The glossy contents card look expensive and nestled inside the box were three full sized products and a sample sized product. It’s not very often that any beauty boxes contain so many full sized items, so I am totally putting Cohorted at the top of the pile for that.
The first item is the bareMinerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment, £45. It’s worth double the amount of the box with is incredible and it is also a current part of the bareMinerals line and is available to buy on their website. I have the light version, and this unusual product is a mineral based powder that is to be used at night after cleansing and moisturising. I have never used a powder like this before and although I have only tried it four times, I am really liking this addition to my skincare routine.
The Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Palette, £9.99 has been on my beauty wishlist for so long but I’ve never got round to picking it up. I’m so pleased that it was in the box and now I can tick it off my list. The colours within the palette are gorgeous and I especially love the bronzed highlighters which will look great with a tan. Three cream highlighters and one powder highlight with a handy brush make this an air hostess approved travelling palette.
There is nothing that Too Faced haven’t released that I do not want and the single eyeshadows are no exception. Copper Peony, £12.15 is a super pigmented, buttery soft golden bronze that really makes an impact on the eye. Use as a wash of colour or add dimension to your smoky eye by patting the shadow in the centre of the lid to build up the intensity. The range features twelve shadows and they all have pretty garden themed names.
Finally, the sample of Urban Decay Perversion mascara is a great addition. As I’ve already written about in my Perversion post, I won’t go over it again except to say that I love a mascara sample as they are so handy for work.
The March box sold out last month so unfortunately it isn’t available anymore and at the time of writing, the April box has also sold out. There are literally only 300 boxes made each month so keep an eye on social media when the April box has been dispatched and I should have a pre order link for you.
I’m so impressed with the Cohorted Beauty Box for March 2015, especially now I have my Sleek palette! Thanks Cohorted! This post may contain PR samples that have been sent to me for consideration for review however all my opinions will be my own.
