Just how ridiculous is this weather considering its the end of April and heading into May. We’ve had rain, thunderstorms and even snow in the North West and it’s way to cold for my liking. As I write, it thundering outside and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some giant forks of lightening in a bit. In my longing for warmer weather, I am thinking happy thoughts about Spring and how lovely it will be when it eventually arrives. Spring, to me, means pastels and pinks and I’ve spotted some beautiful items that fit the bill perfectly. Lets dive into Spring pinks from Fragrance Direct and cross our fingers for a fresher, warmer few weeks.
One event I look forward to about Spring is Wimbledon, which is played in June. I never used to like the tennis, but last year I found myself watching quite a lot of matches and getting quite involved in the games. For an anti – sports gal, this is quite an achievement. Wimbledon is synonymous with strawberries, and a bit of celebratory champagne, so these gorgeous body products from Victoria’s Secret fit ih really well. The Strawberries and Champagne Body Wash and Body Lotion smell divine. Sparkling and fresh on the skin, with a subtle strawberry scent. Packed with aloe vera and Vitamin E, skin is left feeling soft and moisturised. At Fragrance Direct, they are both priced at £8.50 which is almost half price from the retail price. Such a glam bargain.
Did you know that Fragrance Direct now sell MAC makeup and are a genuine retailer? I was really pleased to see MAC on the Fragrance Direct website and it’s slightly cheaper than buying it from MAC itself. Although the selection isn’t huge, there are some fabulous products and shades available, including my favourite MAC Sheertone Blush in Blushbaby. Blushbaby is one of the nicest blushers I have ever owned; it’s sheer and such a natural shade that it would suit anyone. The shade is a pink beige, and although sheer, it can be built up. Once it has been applied to the right density, it just looks like a warm flush with no shimmer yet without looking flat. It’s a perfect healthy glow.
I’m obsessed with pale and pastel pink shades at the moment and as soon as I saw Essie Romper Room, I knew it was going to be added to my collection. It’s a pale, petal pink cream finish polish that isn’t too dissimilar to Essie Fiji. It does need three coats for a streak free opaque application. My nail painting skills aren’t brilliant but I found Romper Room really easy to work with and easy to apply. I find Essie polishes to be some of the best polishes that I have tried and I get a really good wear time of three days, even with my flimsy nails, before it starts to chip. Not only that, but Romper Room looks great with tanned hands so I will be keeping this in my longhaul toiletry bag ready to move from Spring to Summer.
I am a massive fan of Fragrance Direct, and not just for the amazing prices on my favourite fragrances, but because I am finding everything under one roof. With big name brands like the ones above, old faves such as L’Oreal and even Bobbi Brown, I think Fragrance Direct will become my first port of call to get a bargain. Speaking of spending, I’ve spotted a new perfume that I want and it’s massively discounted. I am on to a winner right now.
