Skin Saviours: Alpha H Balancing Cleanser and Liquid Gold

In my Skin Saviours post yesterday, I spoke about 4 wonder products that have been nursing my skin back to its former glory. Whilst using Glo-Therapeutics Clear Acne Cleanser every other day, I have needed to use a milder cleanser in between to keep my skin from getting damaged whilst on my mission for clear, acne free skin. Two of my wonder products in today’s post come from Alpha H and they are of course, Liquid Gold and Balancing Cleanser.

Alpha H Balancing Cleanser and Liquid Gold

The Alpha H Balancing Cleanser and Liquid Gold were purchased from QVC at a special price of £35.52 excluding P&P. I also believe that Cult Beauty are offering a special bundle price for this perfect pair.

The Alpha H Balancing Cleanser, 200ml, is an ultra mild cleanser containing aloe vera and Vitamin E. The creamy lotion formula removes all traces of makeup easily without drying out the skin. The mildness of the cleanser leaves my skin feeling soft and supple and free from congestion, whilst also feeling hydrated. I like to use this as an alternative cleanser in between uses of my Glo-Therapeutics cleanser, which in comparison feels quite harsh compared to the gentleness of the Alpha H cleanser. It’s a very basic cleanser, but I love using it simply down to the fact of how my skin feels afterwards. It also works perfectly with the Alpha H Liquid Gold, which is quite an intensive treatment.

For a skincare product, Liquid Gold has become quite famous in its own right as being a wonder product that changes skin from grim to gorgeous. It certainly was on my wish list for quite sometime before I purchased it, however I had held off because at the time as my skin didn’t need something as intense as the glycolic acid formulation. Since having acne breakouts, Liquid Gold has become my best friend. Using every other day, on the same day as I use the Balancing Cleanser, this 100ml bottle has been my skin saviour. It is quite intense, and it does leave your face tingling as the glycolic acid penetrates the skin and does its magic, but I have grown to love the tingle. I mean, if your face is tingling, it’s got to be working, right? A small amount is needed on a cotton pad, and it needs to be kept away from your eyes and also from getting in your mouth, it tastes nasty!

Over the course of the last few weeks, as part of my skincare routine, Alpha H Balancing Cleanser and Liquid Gold have worked so well in not only reducing my spots and blemishes, but they have also helped dissolve any fine lines and shrink my pores. If you didn’t see the picture yesterday, here’s my before and after shots. Caution, the before is a bit gruesome.
