The Single Gals Valentines: Valentines Day Makeup

Happy Valentines Day you gorgeous bunch, or if you prefer, Happy Galentines Day. I’m finishing off this series with a really quick and easy eye make up look that is great for day time but can be pumped up for a smokier evening look. I’ve used a minimal amount of products and I have focused on a dramatic eye with glossy nude lips and a flush of colour on the cheeks.

For my base I have used the VS Pro Radiant Brightening Cream and the Chanel Perfection Lumieré Velvet as I wanted a soft dewy look. My brows have been filled in using the Billion Dollar Brows Brow Powder in Taupe with a MAC 266 Angled Brush.
I always use an eye primer or cream eyeshadow as a base as I find that it holds the eye shadow in place all day. The Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo Leather in Creamy Beige is a great cream shadow that locks in place and stays put. It’s also a really good neutral colour for building other colours on top. All the eyeshadows I have used today are from the MAC Warm Neutral Palette, which I have been getting so much use out of.

Using a MAC 217, I used shade 1 in the crease of the eye socket, taking the colour up to the browbone. Using shade 2 I worked the colour into the outer V for depth and definition. An all over lid colour wasn’t needed because of the beautiful colour and finish of the Maybelline Color Tattoo so for an added pop of colour, I patted shade 3 onto the lid using my finger for maximum sparkle and shine. With a MAC 286 Duo Fibre Blending Brush, I used shade 4 to blend out any harsh lines along the brow bone and also as a hint of highlight. The L’Oreal Super Liner Slim creates beautiful winged liner with ease and lashings of Benefit Roller Lash completes the dramatic look.

On my cheeks I used a pretty pink stain rather than a blusher. The Benefit Posie Tint* is a very light flush of colour that can be built up to the desired effect and as it is a stain it lasts on the skin for a long time. It’s a lovely colour to also use on your lips to give a soft pink glow just like how I have done today. For that added oomph and a glossy finish, Benefit Sugarbomb lip gloss* does the job brilliantly. Not only does it smell and taste delicious, it’s not sticky and really glossy
