Today I thought I would share some love in the form of delicious smelling scents that all remind me of love. I’ve picked four fragrances, all with a name that fits perfectly with Valentines Day. Some of these fragrances are classics, some remind me of my teenage years. Some just scream elegance and some are fresh and new. I’m excited to show you my ‘love’ collection.
The most beautiful bottle award goes to one of my favourite scents, Vera Wang Lovestruck which is the 50ml Eau De Parfum. At first I was more enamoured with the gorgeous bottle and lid with the purple flowers tied up with ribbon. Lovestruck is quite a fresh fruity floral, with the top notes of pink guava and mandarin bouncing off the skin until the heart notes of tuberose and lotus blossom develop. The wood, musk and vanilla dry down give it an elegance that is very romantic and passionate.
Ralph Lauren Romance in my eyes is an absolute classic. It is one of those fragrances that hasn’t ever dated and each time I smell it, it evokes memories of days gone by. Its a very elegant fragrance that falls into the seductive floral category. Rose ginger and marigold chamomile oil sit on top of heart notes of white violet lotus flower and lily. When it settles, the senses are aroused by oakmoss and patchouli. It’s fresh enough for the day but alluring enough to take it into the evening.
The classic scent True Love by Elizabeth Arden is a wonderful daytime fragrance. It’s so light and fruity floral that it’s hard to tell if you are wearing a fragrance but you just smell so naturally beautiful. Notes of peach, freesia, apricots and green notes mingle with heart notes of iris, jasmine, Lily of the Valley and Rose that settle into cedar, amber, sandalwood and a light vanilla. It’s just so pretty.
Finally, the fragrance that takes me back to my teenage years is the Moschino I Love Love Eau de Toilette. I first remember buying myself a bottle of this when I was around 15 whilst on a school trip. I thought I was so cool with this super fresh and citrusy scent. Whenever I get to smell it, I am immediately transported back to my high school days. Amazing. It’s fresh and sparkly with its top notes of citrus and red fruits that settle into a woody and musky base notes with an enlightening tea rose, Lily of the Valley and cinnamon heart.
