I’ve done it again. I’ve bought another piece of make up that I have absolutely zero intention of using because it is just too god damn beautiful. A trip to Miami earlier on this year took me to a mall and in that mall was a giant Sephora. My second home. I had planned to get quite a few items but a horrible sales person put a stop to that. I did pick up one thing, the Sephora Disney Minnie red lipstick – limited edition and oh so special.
The Sephora Disney Collection comprises of six products from an eye shadow palette to a Minnie Mouse ears compact mirror. I was spoilt for choice with the gorgeous black and gold spotted packaging with red accents and the cutest little enamel Minnie Mouse ears charm that come with each box. The lipstick was just $15, which is around £11, and totally worth every penny. I’m quite a sucker for Disney. In recent months I’ve had the MAC Cinderella collection and more recently the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland collection. There’s just something magical about Disney, regardless of your age.
The lipstick itself is cased in a beautiful brushed gold tube, and I found the lid surprisingly secure when I tried to get in it. Good news for if I do ever use it, I know that I won’t be losing the lid in any of my bags. With the Disney Minnie printed on the top half of the case, its grown up and not childish in any way. The magic of course is inside the tube and nestled under the gold lid is the most perfect Old Hollywood red lipstick. There’s a reason that I can’t use it. The lipstick bullet is imprinted with a Minnie Mouse silhouette on the tip of the bullet and signed ‘xoxo Minnie’ down the side. It’s truly a work of art and I really don’t want to spoil the whole item just for the sake of swatching it. I’m really tempted to buy a second one to show you just how beautiful the colour and formula is. I did swatch the lipstick whilst in Sephora, and it is as beautiful as you can imagine.
If you are a Disney fan, then this collection is one for you. The eye shadow palette is particularly beautiful and the shadow pan insert does come out so you could use the box as a clutch if you so wished. A must for any Disney lover or wannabe Minnie. The collection is still available at Sephora with the lipstick being the cheapest product with a set of brushes coming in at $58.
