Oh, how I wish that we had a Sephora at home. It really is the greatest shop on earth. Aisles packed full of the best brands, best products and brands that are really hard to come by in the UK. I really am so lucky that I get to visit as much as I do, and I’ve accumulated quite a few points on my VIB Rouge card. The 500 point rewards are quite good but sometimes you tend to wait for quite a while for the good ones to turn up, and I still haven’t managed to ever get my hand on one of the Marc Jacobs ones. Whilst in Miami, I got the Sephora Beauty Insider Laura Mercier box as this was the first box in ages that I really fancied.
Inside the Laura Mercier Beauty Insider box, five sample sized products were waiting, ready for some love and attention. A mix of well known and lesser known products, all selected to showcase the best of the Laura Mercier brand. I was pleased to see the products that were inside, as some were new to me. Inside the box were the following items;
Flawless Skin Face Polish (0.4 oz.)
Foundation Primer – Radiance Bronze (0.5 oz)
Tinted Moisturiser Broad Spectrum SPF 20 in Nude (0.5 oz)
Lip Glacé in Nectar (0.1 oz)
Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact in Bronze 03 (0.06 oz)
The Flawless Skin Face Polish is my favourite product from the box. As an avid fan of any skincare item, I was looking forward to trying this from the start. Its soft and creamy, and a little goes a long way. The mild exfoliatant uses micro beads to slough away dead skin and leaves my skin feeling incredible. For such a small size tube, I’ve already got two uses out of this and there is still product left inside.
I think Laura Mercier is quite well known for two of her products; the foundation primer and the tinted moisturiser. I have several sample tubes of the foundation primer, yet I haven’t taken the plunge to buy a full size and since I have tried the Radiance Bronze colour, I’m totally torn on whether to get the bronze or the normal primer. The Radiance Bronze isn’t orange, and blends out well so it adds just a touch of colour rather than a full on tanned face.
Unfortunately, the tinted moisturiser is in the shade Nude, and it is way too pale for me. I need to get colour matched to find out which is the best shade for me as the actual product is lovely on the skin.
A girl can never have too many mini lip glosses so the Laura Mercier Lip Glacé in Nectar will be perfect to pop in my handbag for through the day touch ups. The colour is a flattering deep peachy colour that transfers onto the lips as the shame shade, yet sits as a sheer, glossy colour. I’m very tempted to purchase this in full size.
Finally, the Matte Radiance Baked Powder in 03 is an absolute perfect shade for my medium skin tone. It gives such a pretty glow, rather than a bronzer style glow, and warms up the face naturally. It’s very lightweight and sheer, and doesn’t look cakey on the face.
For a points reward gift, I am really pleased with the Sephora Beauty Insider Laura Mercier box as it has given me the opportunity to try products I haven’t tried and to fall in love with some that I never expected too. I have around 300 points on my card now so I am saving them for the next time I go to Sephora for a good spend. You can buy Laura Mercier in the UK from Selfridges and other good department stores.
