I’ve often mentioned about the importance of keeping your feet in good shape whilst working in a job that involve a lot of standing and walking. There is no worse pain than sore toes and feet, especially when you know you have a long shift coming up. One of my favourite guilty pleasures is getting a professional spa pedicure after I’ve landed in Florida and as trips to Florida will shortly be ending for the winter period, I need to try and recreate this at home. A few months ago, I gave my top tips for summer ready feet. Since then, I have upgraded my foot spa and as I am spending today pampering, I thought that whilst my feet were in my Scholl Colour Pop Foot Spa*, I’d write all about it.
Winter is a great time for hiding your feet away in opaque tights and new winter boots, thick socks and slippers but I still like to maintain my twinkle toes. Not only does is make me feel better about myself, I also feel finished, if that makes sense. I’d hate to be caught unaware without having a manicure and pedicure! You never know what adventure is waiting around the corner that needs you to pop on your Choos with an hours notice! Having a good pedicure is essential and I don’t believe that you can’t get the same results at home.
I like to soak my feet in the Scholl Colour Pop Foot Spa with a good splash of aromatherapy oil to soften the skin and to relax me. The massage roller in the centre of the spa is perfect for relieving tension and tired feet. I can sit in my lounge, on my sofa and set the bubbles to work and I can sit there until the water goes cool. It is so relaxing! The massage pad on the base of the spa is such a lovely feeling after a long day at work. I use a pumice stone regularly in the bath and shower to keep dry hard skin at bay, so the pumice stone on the spa is a welcome addition.
The pedicure kit that comes with the Scholl Colour Pop Foot Spa has been used every single time that I change my nail polish. I have never been a whizz at giving myself a salon worthy pedicure, the whole long legs thing has always been an issue but with the correct tools it is amazing how much better they look. Toe separators make the job a lot easier, as does pushing back cuticles after the water has softened them. Shaping, filing and trimming nails makes an at home pedi look so much more professional. I am getting a lot better at doing it myself!
Today I have chosen to wear a deep red polish on my toes ready for the Halloween festivities that we have planned this weekend. Do you give yourself home pedicures?
