I’ve been in need of some deep relaxation and pampering lately. My skin hasn’t been feeling up to standard, and I’m getting bags underneath the bags under my eyes. Striking a good work / life / blog balance seems to be getting more and more difficult and I feel a bit under pressure to get everything done that I want to. Sometimes I feel like I need to just say ‘no’ and do what pleases me, rather than being in a rush to get everything done. Taking my own advice, I took it upon myself to eradicate those niggles that were getting me down, and started with a good pamper session. Using Sabon products, a brand that although new to me, has been established since the mid Nineties and taking root in the heart of Tel Aviv. Born from a love of natural products and scents and a love of personal grooming and relaxation, Sabon creates personalised products and develops cosmetics and toiletries to nourish the mind and soul.
Rather than spending time languishing in a bubble bath, I decided what I needed most was a hot power shower with the Sabon Shower Oil in Clear Dream. A liquid soap that moisturises, smoothes and soothes skin, Clear Dream smells of a fresh summer day filled with cyclamen and freesia, lotus and tulips. The delicate fragrance is a perfect compliment to the formula which is filled with olive, wheat germ, avocado and jojoba oils. Each oil has special properties in regenerating, protecting and nourishing the skin. Cleverly packaged in a screw top jar, it also comes with a pump for ease of use whilst at home.
No pampering session is complete with an exfoliating. The removal of dead and dry skin is one of the most satisfying things in my life. I instantly feel refreshed and revitalised when I know that my skin is silky smooth and free from dead skin cells. The Sabon Lavender – Apples body scrub is made up of sea salt, soya oil and almond oil which is great at making skin feel silky. Using a spoonful of scrub, I found that this was enough to exfoliate my body, paying close attention to the dry areas around my knees, ankles and elbows. The Lavender – Apples scent is very therapeutic and whilst I was feeling the effects of stimulating my circulation with the scrub, the scent was sending me into a therapeutic state or relaxation.
After every shower I always slather myself in a moisturiser before lying on my bed whilst it soaks into my skin. I’ve been using the Sabon Body Butter in Lavender – Apple to not only compliment the fragrance scent of the body scrub, but because anything with lavender in it is brilliant for helping me wind down for a good nights sleep. The body butter contains the same oils as the shower oil for a double intensity of moisture, whilst Shea oils help with keeping skin soft and supple.
Although these Sabon products helped with bringing some much need restoration to my skin, they also helped combat those dark circles as I slept like a log that evening. Sometimes a bit of TLC is all you need to bring you back to your former self. Sabon is now available in the UK and the Sabon website is packed full of gorgeous items that would look beautiful on your dresser and in your bathroom.
