I have another brand new release to show you and it is that new that it isn’t even showing on the Revlon.com website. From what I can work out, the brand new Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquers only got released into drugstores last week and the Ultra HD collection comprises of 14 lipsticks and 12 lip glosses which are all part of the permanent collection. I bought the Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer in Pink Ruby for $8 or so.
The packaging of Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer in Pink Ruby is what drew me to it in the first place. It’s the big crystal on the lid of the tube that had my inner magpie reaching for its sparkly outer. I didn’t even realise that they were brand new as the stand was pretty bare and looked like it had been raided. It was only when I saw the crystal topped lid that I thought that it was new as I certainly would have bought one by now. Luckily, the fuchsia colour that I love so much was in stock in the form of Pink Ruby. A bright pink fuchsia with blue iridescent sparkles suspended within the thick gloss. Perfect.
The gloss itself is great quality considering the low price point. Its super glossy leaving your lips looking like they have been vinyl coated and the colour has just the right amount of shimmer without looking too over the top. The winner for me is the longevity and as with all lip products, I look at how well it performs whilst at work. A 12 hour working day in dry atmosphere, with several cups of tea and glasses of water. I reapplied twice, just to keep that glossy look but what I was most surprised at was how opaque and lipstick like it was. It is so intensely pigmented that it leaves a stain on my lips that I couldn’t get off when I got in from work. After I had my sleep post flight, I had to really scrub to get my lips stain free. My only negative is that the applicator is a brush rather than a doe foot so getting perfect application takes a bit of time and patience but I can live with that.
I have contacted Revlon to find out if we will be getting the Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquers in the UK, so I look forward to updating you when I find out. I’d be really interested in trying more colours of the gloss as well as the lipsticks. If the lipsticks wear as well as the glosses then I will be definitely looking at making space for 14 new lip colours. Revlon, you can do no wrong at the moment! This post may contain PR samples that have been sent to me for consideration for review however all my opinions will be my own.
