Princess Beauty – Vera Wang Hippie Princess

I never really noticed just how many beauty items I had that were all lovingly encased in pink packaging. Whilst sitting at my dressing table surrounded by all the pink items, it gave me an idea for a blog post. Who doesn’t want to feel like a princess whenever they get ready – whether it be a night out, a date or just going for a coffee with your friend. I’ve picked a couple of my favourite items, all pink of course, that are perfect for Princess Beauty. I’ve also added in the ultimate in Princess, the latest in the Vera Wang Princess collection of fragrances – Vera Wang Hippie Princess.

I always feel better with a tan and the Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze is one of my firm favourites. This is probably my fifth tube of the gradual tan and I love how you can control the level of bronze that your skin gets to. It smells amazing, like the other Cocoa Brown products and the lightweight cream sinks into skin easily. It doesn’t develop as dark as the 1 Hour Tan, but for a natural glow, it’s fantastic. I like to rub it into my skin like a moisturiser, let it sink in before getting dressed and let it works its magic. Don’t forget to wash your hands after using it!

I found these gorgeous natural looking Gracie lashes by The Vintage Cosmetics Company and thought they were ideal for an extra flutter to my lashes that wouldn’t look too much for daytime. They have been designed for lengthening and they are quite long when you put them on, and for this reason I love them. They just give that little bit of va-va-voom rather than looking too dramatic. I’ve managed to get a good few wears out of these, and prefer to use DUO glue with them, which is really easy to peel of the strips of lashes, so you can re-use them again.

A Princess wouldn’t be complete without having a lovely pale pink manicure, and I couldn’t think of a better nail lacquer than the OPI Nail Lacquer in Princesses Rule. A gorgeous sheer pale pink packed full of pale pink glitter, it looks lovely when used as part of a French manicure, or worn alone in its semi sheer finish. The glitter isn’t too in your face and it lasts ages. Even on my rubbish nails, I can get a good five days from it. No wonder it’s OPIs best selling pink shade. From the swatches, you can see how it looks with one, two and three coats.

A hint of a tint on your cheeks is all that a Princess needs. I’ve been using the gorgeous Bourjois 12hr Aqua Blushes lately, and I love the sheer finish that leaves a pop of sorbet inspired colour on your cheeks. Pink Twice has been my go to shade lately as the pink is so natural that it looks as if you’ve been out in the cold and your cheeks have naturally flushed. There’s a full review and swatches of all the shades in my previous Bourjois blush post.

I have a slight addiction to Too Faced and who wouldn’t, with its whimsical designs and sweet shop inspired palettes and sets. I have a growing collection of the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks and I’ve been wearing Too Faced Melted Metals in Melted Macaron lately. A bright fuchsia pink with metallic finish that can be worn sheerly or built up for maximum impact. The soft cushion applicator makes for easy precise application and for those who are interested, it’s also a gluten free formula. I never knew that! They’re so richly pigmented and really hard wearing, I’m definitely eyeing up a few more of the shades. Debenhams is the only place in the UK that stock Too Faced so check in your local store or on their website.

The piece de resistance in making you feel like a Princess is none other than the Vera Wang Hippie Princess* perfume. This Princess has rings on her fingers and flowers in her hair, bohemian and free, brave and happy. It does sum up the fragrance in those words. The scent itself is floral and fruity – my kind of fragrance; It opens with exotic red mango and gentle white Freesia which dance with heart notes of apricot and Lotus Flower. Base notes of Blonde Woods, Vanilla and Pink Musk settle onto the skin, leaving a warm sweetness that lingers. The flacon fits beautifully into the collection, with each bottle of Princess having it’s own design on the iconic heart shaped glass bottle, topped with a princess crown. Magenta pink and teal are the signature colours of Hippie Princess and not only does it look fit for a Princess but the design suggest bohemia and greatness. The 30ml bottle from Fragrance Direct has a £20 discount of the recommended retail price and it is perfect for any Princess that you know.
