Making the decision to use just a set of specific products over the course of the month has been one of the better decisions that I’ve made. No longer wondering which product of twelve is not agreeing with me, or having a choice of five different serums is no longer. A targeted and focused skincare routine is my new jam, and my skin has never behaved better. This last month I have been using Filorga, a French skincare company who’s ethos is beauty without the surgery. It’s expensive, granted, but it’s also easily accessible to get hold of the collection from Marks and Sparks. As experts in anti-ageing, Filorga definitely does have innovative products inspired by the science behind cosmetic procedures such as fillers and botox. Each target driven product has a goal in mind – younger looking skin without the injections.
Whilst I was on holiday, I was really enjoying the bare faced, tanned and natural look which I’m quite happy to keep up whilst at home. To do this, I want my skin to be hydrated, plumped up and radiant and Filorga has slipped perfectly into my routine to keep my skin in check. Using just six skincare products from the range, I’ve been focusing on the upkeep of hydrated skin and a good exfoliate.
Each evening, the first thing I do when I get home is remove my makeup. I don’t think there is any better feeling that removing traces of the day along with stubborn mascara. Before I do a full cleanse, of which I’m still using my trusty Dermalogica Ultra Calm Cleanser, I take off my makeup with the Filorga Anti-Ageing Micellar Water. It’s a great remover and although I do cleanse afterwards, the micellar water is a stand alone product that doesn’t need to be rinsed off. In a 400ml bottle, it’s lasting a long time and my skin feels not only clean but moisturised too.
Twice a week, I like to treat my skin to an exfoliating mask, and I think that the Filorga Scrub and Mask is one of the most fun masks that I’ve tried. A scrub that gets massaged into the skin, it then settles and develops into a bubbling mask. Reminiscent of an old fave, the Bliss Oxygenating Face Mask and a new discovery, the Clinique Pep Start Bubble Mask, they are all almost pure exhilarating torture to my skin. The bubbles tickle so much and it’s a true pleasure/pain experience for my skin. After the bubbly fun though, my skin looks incredible. The scrub has taken away the dead skin cells whilst the oxygen filled bubbles have brought a glow to my revitalised and refined face.
I’ve also been using a exfoliating moisturiser each evening that is packed full of hyaluronic acid, ahas and bhas to resurface and freshen up my skin. Not only does the Filorga Sleep and Peel give a great hydration for a night cream, I wake up looking so fresh and bright. It’s quite a cool cream as it gives a little tingle when you apply it to your face but it feels so good.
I’ve been trying my hardest to remember to use an eye cream each night, and to be honest, I’ve been pretty impressed with myself for remembering. The trick is to leave in out where it’s visible so you can’t forget! The Filorga Optim-Eyes Contour cream is just a little bit brilliant with it’s cocktail of ingredients that tackle the pigmentation under the eyes, as well as brightening and tightening the eye contour area. The greatest thing is that although I may be super tired, my eyes aren’t giving it away, and for that I am thankful!
Hydration is very important to my skin, and something I need to keep on top off. Although I drink a lot of water each day, my skin still needs the extra boost each morning and evening. The Filorga Hydra-Hyal Intensive Serum is such a beautiful serum for adding moisture and plumpness to the skin. A little goes a long way and one pipette full is enough to give my skin the drink that it needs. I love that morning pamper when I’ve massaged and patted it into my skin and when I look in the mirror and see a glowy, fresh face.
For an all rounder moisturiser that can be used both morning and night, without any added extras, the Filorga Hydra Filler is a great choice. Designed for a youthful complexion, it’s packed full of hyaluronic acid that reduces fine lines, plumps up skin and leaves me looking radiant and fresh.
As my skin is looking pretty amazing right now, it’s been easy enough to not want to wear makeup and keep to a sheer base. Using the Filorga BB-Perfect cream, I have been embracing my clear, glowing skin that looks healthy and fresh. It’s also a great base for under foundation as it gives a poreless, soft focus finish.
To complete my routine, you cannot beat a face mask that masks you sit back, relax and have a good 15 minutes of uninterrupted bliss. Using the Filorga Time – Filler mask, as well as the Hydra – Filler mask, these serum infused masks work intensively onto the skin. With the amount of serum within the mask and packet, I can get at least two treatments from each sachet. I particularly love the Hydra Filler mask for the amazing hydration that it gives my skin.
Filorga really does seem to be quite underrated within the beauty world, but it really is a brilliant brand that has the knowledge and experience to know how to target skin concerns and give beautiful skin without the surgery.
