As the end of the month draws closer, I get excited for two things; payday and the arrival of my Birchbox*. As a blogger, I get an exclusive preview of the upcoming months box and I was hoping that I would have had a post up a lot earlier than today, however my job has started to interfere with the smooth scheduling of my blog posts. Today is the day and I’m going to let you have a sneaky peak inside the March Birchbox in collaboration with Habitat.
The March Birchbox is a colourful little number which I much prefer to the plain brown boxes that are synonymous with Birchbox. The theme of the box is ‘Do try this at home’ and alongside your usual samples and lifestyle extras, subscribers can get a huge 20% discount off at Habitat.
I’m really pleased with this months box as it has a great mix of products that I haven’t tried before as well as a favourite and a product that will be handy for travelling with. This month we also get two Birchbox Lifestyle extras, in the form of a cute little Birchbox and Habitat notebook and a sample of Penny Vincenzi ‘A Perfect Heritage’.
Within my box, I struck lucky with a sample size of Benefit Roller Lash. As a huge lover of Roller Lash, I’m pleased to have a sample size which I can keep in my long haul makeup bag. If you subscribe to Birchbox, you can select your choice of Roller Lash, BADGal or a They’re Real sample. It’s a great opportunity to try out these cult mascaras and if you haven’t tried Roller Lash yet then you must! Full size £17.50
Another sample from Philip Kingsley was in this months box. I received the Body Building Shampoo in the January box and I am slowly collecting up a family of samples for my long haul trips. The Smoothing Cream, full size £18, is really lovely and leaves my hair feeling silky and looking glossy with all my flyaway ends smoothed into the hair shaft.
My least favourite product in the box is the Catherine Malandrino Style De Paris Eau De Parfum, full size £50. I dislike perfume samples as they are so small that they often run out just as I am starting to fall in love with the fragrance. The Style De Paris scent is quite a sophisticated little number with citrus top notes and a fruity heart.
The Janjira Pomegranate and Acai Facial Scrub Cleanser, full size £24 is another product that can be popped into my long haul toiletries bag. I love skin care and I have so many different products on the go that I’m hoping that I get chance to use this soon. I like a mild scrub so I am interested to see how this fares compared to some of my others.
Finally, the product that I am the most excited about is the TanOrganic Self Tanning Oil, £24.99. I already have the full sized version of this which is waiting to be reviewed. I usually do my fake tanning whilst away on work trips. I like to take the opportunity to pamper whilst in these hotel rooms across the world, and TanOrganic comes in a glass bottle. It’s lovely, but I’m scared to pack it just in case it gets smashed. The sample size is perfect as I will be able to refill it from the full size and enjoy my fake tanning experience when abroad. I haven’t yet published my full review on TanOrganic but I am very impressed with the self tanning oil.
If you like the look of this months Birchbox, you can get your own for just £10 plus £2.95 P&P. Subscriptions are available on a 1 month, 6 month and 12 month basis and there is still plenty of time for you to grab your March box with your choice of Benefit mascara. I’ve heard a little whisper that next months box will contain Laura Mercier, how exciting!
