Makeup Revolution Reloaded Newtrals 2 Palette

Isn’t it nice to have a break every now and again. I think I’ve been stuck in a little blogging rut since Christmas and although each post I wrote on the run up to Christmas was honest and thoughtful, I felt that I was still churning posts out just to meet deadlines and please others who were expecting them. Taking just a week to myself to take stock of the situation has made my outlook so much different. Combined with my new for 2018 goals of self care and not putting too much pressure on myself, I feel like the love has come back with a vengeance. The love for make up, of course, has not disappeared and I have been taking twice weekly trips to the Superdrug near my office where I’m falling back in love with Makeup Revolution and their new launches.

I was a bit of a hardcore MUR fan at one point and for some reason, I stopped being as into it as I once was. The brand that brings the dupes to the mass market at affordable prices with superb quality, Makeup Revolution have caused quite a stir in the beauty world. A cruelty free formulation, prices cheaper than chips and some of the most highly pigmented shades have brought MUR to the forefront of budget beauty.

When I spotted the Reloaded Palettes by Makeup Revolution, two things jumped straight to mind. One, the palettes were £4. £4! That’s how much I pay for a coffee in Starbucks sometimes! Second of all, the colours in the Newtrals 2 palette were everything I dream of when it comes to picking my favourite shades. Although there is no palette as such that this a direct dupe of, it does remind me of the Huda Beauty Obsessions palettes. I did notice that two of the Reloaded palettes do look just like Modern Renaissance and Subculture from Anastasia Beverly Hills so I may need to compare and contrast in the not too distant future.

15 shades of warm oranges and burgundy’s, a mixture of foiled, matte and shimmer shadows that feel buttery soft and blend like a dream. The pigmentation rivals some of my higher end palettes, and my arm was quite the stained mess after I had finished my swatching. Now, I did have some difficulty with some of the looser shadows; the foiled shades are more like pressed pigments so they perform slightly differently which is fine unless you’re trying to keep things neat for swatching purposes. Unusually, the lighter shades were warm enough and had enough kick to show up on my skin which is something that I struggle with with my skin tone and I have totally fallen in love with the pale rose gold shade.

I don’t have a bad thing to say about the Makeup Revolution Reloaded Newtrals 2 palette. It will come as no surprise to hear that it’s out of stock both on TAM Beauty and Superdrug so heading into a store will be the best bet to grab this palette. I will definitely be looking to get the other palettes from the range, and I have decided that I have to have the Makeup Revolution x Soph palettes. I see a new addiction coming on, and I am fine with that.

If anyone has Subculture and has tried the Makeup Revolution Iconic Division palette, I would love to know how they compare. Leave a comment and let me know.
