I said to myself that I didn’t need to make any more orders from the Makeup Revolution website but I just couldn’t help myself. I blame them really, and the sheer amount of new releases they are bringing out and at amazing prices. I only made a small order this time and picked up the new I Heart Makeup Naked Chocolate Palette and this great multi use Makeup Revolution Protection Palette in Medium. Now, you know me well enough by now to know that I cannot resist anything that is multi use or cleverly packaged to make my life as an international jet setter somewhat easier. I can’t tell you just how handy the Protection palette has been so far.
The Makeup Revolution Protection Palette in Medium is made up of seven different make up products for the face, meaning I only need to take this palette alongside my foundation for a full face of makeup. The three concealers are in various shades suitable for a medium skin tone with the lightest shade ideal for under eye. The two other shades although they look quite dark actually translate quite well on my skin. They are quite emollient and feel almost greasy to the touch but blend evenly and smoothly onto the skin with no oily patches. I don’t feel like they are the same formula as the concealers in the Cover and Conceal palette as they do feel a bit different.
The Silk Touch Anti Shine pressed powder is really lovely. It feels so soft to the touch and its great for mid day touch ups. It reduces shine yet doesn’t mattify your skin or make your face look caked in powder. The contour powder also works well as a bronzer, so again hurray for multi use. The matte bronze isn’t too muddy looking nor too orange for creating naturally contoured cheekbones. The blush is a really pretty colour and leave cheeks with a fresh flush of colour. It blends well and can be built up for a deeper hit. Finally, the highlighter and although I prefer more of a champagne shade, the light reflecting pearl highlight sits beautifully on the skin and high points of the face.
As with all Makeup Revolution products that I have tried so far, they are really pigmented and long lasting. It is hard to believe that this palette cost only £6. I will be reporting back soon with my I Heart Makeup Naked Chocolate palette which is a great partner to the I Heart Makeup Death By Chocolate Palette.
