Happy Monday to you all, and I hope today turns out to be a good day. I’ve been having a good think about what to include in Lipstick Week and with all my thoughts of the new colours that I’ve recently bought, I think I may have to do another weeks worth of lippies next month. Or, I could stop buying them so I don’t have so many to show you. Well, that’s never going to happen is it! I’m still adding all my shades to my Pinterest board, so give it a little follow if you need any ideas of which colours to go for. A shade that I thought was appropriate for a Monday is MAC Speak Louder, a fresh pretty pink that will brighten up your day.
MAC Speak Louder lipstick was one of the four that I traded in my Back 2 MAC empties for. As with MAC Fanfare, I couldn’t believe that I didn’t already have it. Maybe it’s because every time I go to the MAC counter in Selfridges, I always end up picking up colours that I already have. The day I traded in my empties, a lot of colours were out of stock and as I know so many of the staff in there, they just let me have a little glance in the drawers to see what was in stock and what jumped out at me. I’m so glad I spotted this little beauty. MAC describes Speak Louder as a clean poppy blue pink in a Cremesheen finish. I’ve mentioned before how Cremesheen finishes can be a tad drying but I found Speak Louder to be quite creamy and not as drying as others. Its fairly opaque on the lips and when the sheen wears off, it does have a tendency to cling to dry patches however it was quite minimal.
I think MAC Speak Louder looks quite bright and intense in the bullet but doesn’t transfer as vibrantly as I expected. I’m not stranger to wearing bright colours as you all know, but the mutedness of Speak Louder makes it a great every day lipstick. Wear time is good, I got around 4-5 hours from the colour with mild staining but as it clung to some dry patches, I had to remove all the colour that was left before reapplying to get that fresh, smooth finish.
If you love MAC Speak Louder like I do, its one of the colours that is still in stock on the MAC website. Why not see how many empties you have for a little Back 2 MAC treat.
