I love this time of year for two reasons. One, it’s almost nearly going to be summer soon, I can feel it. Secondly, it’s the summer phase for make up launches. I think I love summer launches more than I love Fashion Week to spot the newest trends and that’s a strong statement. Already, we have seen the Fenty Beauty Body Lava hit the shelves, and I think I saw a sneak peak of the Esteé Lauder Bronze Goddess palette that will here with this years Bronze Goddess perfume launch for 2018. The Kiko Milano Summer 2018 collection has just made its way into store and onto the website, and it’s making waves – Gold Waves to be precise. One of the prettiest collections that I’ve seen from Kiko, it scream summer and looks perfectly in keeping with my tropical themed backgrounds.
The entire collection has a golden, jewel like packaging which looks so luxury that you’d be surprised to find that each item is under £20 with the exception of the bronzer and the brush kit. A capsule collection which contains products for a whole face of makeup, with the emphasis on healthy, glowing skin with glossy eyes and lips. There are three different types of foundation; a liquid, cream and powder. I have both the cream foundation and powder compacts, which both has an integral mirror within the packaging as well as a compartment for the sponge applicator. I have both foundations in the shade 01 Fair, which usually would be a few shades too light for me however it’s actually really nice on my skin. Whilst it’s pale and natural, it can be warmed up with a bronzer. The coverage can be built but up and I found that the formula, although matte, didn’t look cakey or dry. I love the fact that it has an SPF of 50 so I’ll be taking this away with me for sure.
The Gold Waves Sand Shore blusher is another product that conjures up summer in a second. With a satin finish, Sun Shore is a mix of golden bronzer and pink gold that swirls together to make a seamless warm glow on your cheeks. I love blusher, it really makes a face of makeup look complete, and even when less is more, a touch of blush finishes the look so well.
After I spent the majority of last year swapping my usual lipsticks for lip oils, I was very excited to see the Kiko Gold Waves Nourishing Lip Oil. I mean, just look at it – it’s gorgeous. The clear tube shows the oil with flakes of orange suspended within. The formulation is packed with orange essence and the oil gives a shiny, glossy finish that makes it look like a high shine lip gloss. Whilst lips are being nourished, they remain comfortable and hydrated. I’m in love.
