Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick in Berlin

How many years have I spent shipping Kat Von D makeup back from the United States and into the loving arms of my Mum. Actually, can you believe that my Mum was the first out of us both to own a Studded Kiss Lipstick and the Shade and Light Eye Contour Palette. Isn’t she fabulous? The one thing that she has avoided getting is the Lock It Foundation as it’s really difficult to match up especially when a brand thinks so well about different shade ranges. Luckily, Debenhams does sell Kat Von D both online and now in selected stores including my home town of Manchester. I popped in on launch day to see the new counter in full swing, as well as see what items I really couldn’t live without.

The counter space in Debenhams Manchester is actually quite big compared to other brands in the beauty hall. As expected, it’s black, glossy and gothic with every product in the line on display. I was so tempted between the Alchemist palette, which is so beautiful but it’s so teeny and I don’t really need another highlighter palette. I still will get it eventually because I’m an addict and there are worse things to be addicted to. Rather than get yet another highlighter, I got yet another liquid lipstick because I definitely needed one of those. I swatched about four of five shades and Berlin was the one I kept going back to. It’s that beautiful warm rose that looks almost a pink coral on my skin and I couldn’t imagine my life without it.

The official blurb does say that Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick in Berlin is a warm rose; a medium to dark pinky red with an ultra matte finish. It does remind me a little of MAC Impassioned, but obviously with a hell of a lot longer staying power. Now, I do wear a lot of liquid lipsticks and I do favour the Anastasia Beverly Hills lipsticks but the Kat Von D ones are definitely a good contender. Whilst they both have their pro’s and con’s, the only negative I find with the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks is that they get very messy when wet. Not great in this weather when all you want to do is swig water. However, I can live with that because I’m not precious. I just adore Berlin. It’s that perfect juicy lip colour for summer. Love, love, love!

If you are in Manchester, please do pop in and see the girls on the counter of Kat Von D. They’re all so lovely and they will match you up to your hearts desire. I think I’m definitely due a match up of the Lock It foundation although just from looking I predict 53 Neutral. I will let you know if I’m right!
