Love them or hate them, the Kardashians are slowly taking over the world. From Kylie’s Lip Kits, to the the Kardashian Kollection of clothing in Dorothy Perkins, there are no niche markets that they haven’t yet cracked. Hell, they’ve even got their own apps where they charge you £7 a month to see what they are doing. Kimojis anyone? It wasn’t going to be long before the Kardashian make up line expanded into the Kardashian beauty line with the introduction of hair products, all tried and tested by the Kardashian sisters.
The Kardashian Beauty range is a prestige range of products each with high quality formulas and luxurious ingredients that have been designed so that us mere mortals can have the sleek, sexy, shiny hair a la Kim and co. The range contains twelve different hair care products and has since been expanded to feature styling tools such as dryers and straightners and a selection of brushes for the perfect blow dry. Our of the twelve products, I expected to see the usual creams, sprays and lotions but one item that struck me was the new Dry Conditioner. Having only ever seen this once before, it’s headed over to my shopping list for a future purchase. Each product with the Kardashian Beauty line contains Black Seed Oil, the latest innovation in keeping hair smooth and hydrated and tamed, without weighing hair down.
I’be been trying out three products from the Kardashian Beauty line; the K-Body Volume Foam, Smooth Styler Blow Dry Cream and the Black Seed Dry Oil. My first impressions upon opening the box was the sleek design and the packaging. It’s looks a lot more high quality than what I was expecting. Of course, the first thing you do with a new product is smell it and the blow dry cream smelt heavenly. I was so excited to use it. I have been using and subsequently ran out of the Lee Stafford Ubuntu Oils blow dry Smoothee, so I had high hopes in my new replacement. Thankfully, I am very pleased to say that it is a gorgeous cream and it makes my hair feel incredibly soft and smooth, reduces tangles and makes it so much easier for the brush to work through it as well as helping speed up drying time.
I haven’t used the K-Body Volume Foam as often as the Blow Dry Cream, as I find myself automatically going for a smoother hairstyle, rather than using the Volume Foam to give texture and hold in my curls. When I have been using the foam, I’ve found that it does really work in keeping my curls intact and holding them in place for a lot longer than when just hairspray is used. It’s really lightweight and two squirts give enough product to work through my hair without it getting crunchy. In fact, when I do style my hair, rather than it holding fast, it sits in place but with added extra body and movement.
The Black Seed Dry Oil is by far my favourite item from the collection, and it has already replaced my existing Argan Oil that I have been using. It’s really lightweight, and as with any oil, it only needs a small amount to go theough the hair. It doesn’t leave it sticky or greasy looking and if applied whilst wet, it doesn’t leave hair looking like it needs a wash. It’s great for achieving smooth, sleek hair and the Kim Kardashian style ponytail is so achievable and easy to do.
I was really wanting to have something negative to say about the Kardashian Beauty Kollection but I can’t do it. For what I have tried has been fantastic. So, whilst I sit here watching KUWTK, in my Kardashian Kollection top whilst my hair smells like Kardashian Beajty products, I may as well admit that I want to be Khloe. Ah, what is life!
