The art of self gifting during December is very difficult to avoid. Even more so when the babes at World Duty Free invite me to browse the aisles of Terminal 2 in Manchester to pick up some bit for Christmas. I’ve been working closely with World Duty Free for a few years now and each year, I know that Christmas is around the corner when they invite me to the Jet Set Beauty event. A shopping spree that every beauty lover will adore, I can’t actually write up about what goodies I picked up as most of them are Christmas presents. But, in true shopping spree form, you can’t have a basket full of treats without slipping a little something inside for yourself. My spree took me over to the Jo Malone counter where the lovely Amanda talked me through the Intense range; a range that I do not own anything from. Starting my collection, the subtle Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily Dry Body Oil was boxed up, ready for me to start my Intense Jo Malone journey.
The Jo Malone Intense range in it’s entirety is made up of just seven different fragrances, which has since been developed into the matching candles and now the dry body oil. My love for oils is huge. I could literally shout from the rooftops at how much help they are with my skin. Although my skin doesn’t have very many concerns, since using oil I have found that it just behaves that little bit better. Not only are oils helping my skin, but they are a luxurious treat for winding down after a hard day. Having never seen, let alone tried dry oils by Jo Malone, I spent a considerable amount of time choosing my fragrance. The dry oils are only available in three scents; Oud and Bergamot, Velvet Rose and Oud and Dark Amber and Ginger Lily. As with all Jo Malone products they are designed for layering so each scent does work well with others. I decided on Dark Amber and Ginger Lily although Velvet Rose and Oud came a very close second.
Amanda worked the dry oil into my hand to show just how well it performed in making my skin look hydrated and conditioned, compared to my other hand. Leaving a very light sheen to the skin, without any greasiness, the scent of the oil wasn’t at all overpowering but the deepness of the fragrance was apparent. Since using this at home myself, I have found no further need to add a body cream to my skin after using the oil and my skin has really drank it up. It’s like it has been waiting with baited breath for such an intensive treat.
A full range of Jo Malone can be found in World Duty Free in several terminals across the UK. You can also order before flying to take the stress out of shopping, although a browse in Jo Malone and a complimentary hand massage would easily take the stress away. I have decided that the Intense fragrances are something that I would really like to try more of, and Velvet Rose and Oud Cologne is next on my list. Then maybe the Oud and Bergamot candle, just to make things really luxurious.
Thanks World Duty Free for spoiling me, once again. You’ve made me a very happy girl.
