Illamasqua Scarce Nail Varnish Review

The Spring collection from Illamasqua ‘Imperfection’ ( I’m Perfection. Very clever Illamasqua) brought with it five beautiful nail varnishes that look like the unique patterns of bird eggs. I chose Scarce, which reminds me of pink mini eggs however I think Fragile will be heading onto the wish list as well!

Scarce is a pale pink with yellow undertones and is filled with tiny pieces of charcoal coloured glitter and larger hexagonal pieces of black glitter. I applied the varnish over a base coat and my first impression was how much product it puts on your nail. One coat and it was very nearly opaque and the second coat just filled in those tiny gaps.
This is the first Illamasqua nail varnish I have owned, but I have heard great things about the length of time the varnish lasts for. I wore it for two days before having to remove it for work (speckled egg nails are NOT uniform standard!) but by the time I removed it, there were no visible chips or tip wear.

As the varnish contains glitter, I was a bit dubious about the length of time to remove it so I soaked cotton pads in nail varnish and let the pads sit on my nails for a few minutes. It took the polish and the glitter right off. I am amazed!
