My first ever Illamasqua lipstick had to be a super bright, stand out, extravagant colour like Eurydice. Described on the Illamasqua website as a bright fuschia pink with a matte finish, this lipstick is true to colour and finish. At first glance of Illamasqua Eurydice Lipstick, I was expecting it to be a very dry matte as it looks quite chalky looking whilst in the bullet however the first time I swatched it, I was so surprised to see how creamy it was whilst it didn’t drag against my hand.
Whilst trying to photograph it for today’s blog post I have had a bit of a difficult time trying to get a true reflection of the colour. When I photograph it in natural light it looks coral-pink and not as vibrant as it is in real life. The photo taken with the flash does come closer to the colour that it is supposed to be, yet when I look at myself in the mirror whilst wearing it, it looks like a purple based magenta pink colour. Either way, any of the colours look fab! When I had a little peek at the Illamasqua website, I noticed that the swatch is closer in colour to my pictures without the flash than it is to its true life colour on my lips. I know my lips are quite naturally red so this may have something to do with it. I hope I haven’t confused you with this, as I am a bit bamboozled myself!
Illamasqua Eurydice Lipstick is a great lipstick for its long wearing intense colour. I got a good 5 hours of wear out of this beauty and this included a gym session and eating pasta for tea. As always, with a matte lipstick, it is a good idea to prime your lips before wear. I can’t actually believe that I only own one Illamasqua lipstick. One thinks one will be going shopping soon 😉
