I heart Crown Brushes

One of my inspirations in life is the wonderful Karla Powell. As a make up artist, she creates unbelievable looks and absolutely blows me away with each photo shoot I see. As I’ve been following Karlas work, I’ve been chatting on Twitter to Crown Brushes, the company that Karla is the brand ambassador for.

I have an extensive selection of make up brushes but they’re nearly all from MAC with a few other brands thrown in. I’ve been trying to branch out and stop pigeon holing myself to a brand when there are so many other great brands out there. I’ve heard about Crown Brushes for a long time now, however I always presumed that they were for professionals, and came with the professional price tag.

How wrong was I! Affordable, great quality and an amazing selection of brushes, I was spoilt for choice when I was trying to narrow down my selection.

I finally chose the C405 Angle Contour Brush, and the C441 Pro Blending Crease Brush.

The C405 is a brush that is a must for any collection. As I’ve been throwing myself into contouring recently, this has come to my aid perfectly. The brush sits at the correct angle and creates a perfect contoured line on your cheeks, however it is also soft enough to blend away any harsh lines. Made from goat hair, it gives an expert application without having to try too hard and it’s only £8.29.

The C441 Pro Blending crease is ideal for blending out your smokey eye. The tip of the brush sits in the crease wonderfully and blends by just chipping away at the harsh lines to create a soft, sexy and subtle cut of colour in the crease. I think I’ll be purchasing a back up of this brush and at only £3.99, I can afford to buy several! Again, made from goat hair, it is soft and supple yet stiff enough to expertly blend.

Thanks to Crown, I now have a wish list as long as my arm. I really want to invest in the 88 Palettes and the Concealer palette, and to build up my MUA kit I’m definitely going to be using Crown Brushes.

I’d also just like to take a moment to thank Crown Brushes for their fab twitter chats, and for also featuring my blog and new brushes on their Facebook page 🙂 Thank You!!
