My hair has been so many different styles, lengths and colours over the years that I find it hard to keep up with myself. After going for the chop around a year ago, I have decided that I want long hair again. I actually don’t know why I want to grow my hair long as I really don’t think it suits me and I am so lazy with my blow drying that it just hangs there. I think it’s the convenience of being able to put my hair up and take it away from my face. Even now, as I sit here writing with my hair loose around my face, I can feel the urge of wanting to put it in a ponytail. My only problem is that I don’t have much hair and a ponytail is more like a puny tail. A simple solution for a glamorous up-do is of course to bring out the extra hair. My secret weapon in the quest for disguising what I have and creating something special.
Hair Rehab London is the brainchild of Lauren Pope, who always has amazing hair. The Dual Volume Ponytail is a clip in piece made from synthetic hair, which can be one in two styles and in two different ways. I was matched to Vanilla Beach which is really quite close to my natural colour that I actually couldn’t believe that I’ve found a shade similar to my multi faceted blonde. A claw clip fastening is secured under the net of the hair piece, and it can be easily clipped to your hair by covering the base of your own ponytail. It’s also very easy to remove the clip so you can attach the hair piece by just the net after tying your own hair into a bun. I did find it quite difficult for the hair to stay in place when I used just the net. The hair piece was slightly too heavy for my head and I needed to secure it with several pins, which kept sliding out. I think in future should I use just the net, a lot of texturising spray is a must to make my hair easier to control.
The difference in how I feel when I have more hair is amazing. I feel like a different person. I actually felt really pretty and girly with my ponytail. I love that with this piece you can have two different looks; a sleeker pony or a fuller, bouncier ponytail. Either way, the long hair on me looked so full and fantastic, that I couldn’t decide which I preferred more.
With synthetic hair, I do find that it can look synthetic however I was really pleased with the Hair Rehab London piece. If ever I feel that a hair piece does look synthetic, I find that a spritz of dry shampoo and a good paddle brush does take away the plastic shine. With the length and amount of hair that you get in the dual volume hairpiece, it isn’t just a piece that needs to be worn in a ponytail. I have been playing around with mine and have managed to plait it, fishtail braid it and put it in a big bun so it is very versatile.
After being so impressed with the synthetic hair piece from Hair Rehab London, I am seriously interested in looking into the human hair pieces. I also want to say how impressed I am with the brand. I posted an Instagram story to say that my hair piece had arrived, and tagged both Hair Rehab London and Lauren Pope in the image. Lauren took time out her day to respond to my post and sent me a DM on Instagram. That is just incredible service and you can see just how much she loves her brand.
