Even though I am a luxury beauty addict through and through, there are a certain few brands who can do no wrong in my eyes. One of those said brands is Sleek Makeup, a budget brand that keeps on knocking it out of the park with every new release. Each and every product is intensely pigmented, with fantastic application and each with a price point of under £10. The newest collection has been inspired by cosy nights by the fire, romantic evenings and spending time with your significant other. The Goodnight Sweetheart Collection by Sleek Makeup hits the nail on the head when it comes to conjuring these images to mind with the shades across the i-Divine palette and the three new Lip VIP colours.
There are around 20 of the i-Divine palettes from Sleek, and at last count, I own around 15 of them. I was really looking forward to getting the Goodnight Sweetheart palette, because as soon as I saw it, I knew the shades were right up my street. Housed in the Sleek signature black packaging, with an large internal mirror and packed with 12 beautiful shades that remind me of cashmere and cuddles, it’s stunning. I was also pleased to see a dual ended sponge applicator, as I have found a perfect use for them. They come in really handy to apply glitter to lids and lips, without ruining my make up brushes. The shades inside are divine. A mixture of mattes and shimmers, the shades flit between dusky roses to iridescent greens and bubbly champagnes. From day time wear to a heavy smokey eye, nothing is impossible when using Goodnight Sweetheart and I have been finding that I’ve been drawn to the greener shades in the palette. For me, it’s quite unusual to wear shades that are green as they clash with my eye colour, but combined with the deeper browns and a particular favourite; By The Fireside, they make my eyes sparkle like emeralds.
The Sleek Lip VIPs have got me really excited with these particular shades. I have quite of a few of the shades from the collection, including some vivid summer brights and the more outlandish shades from the Whimsical collection. With the Goodnight Sweetheart collection, the shades have taken an autumnal turn, with deep just bitten stains, and purple tones. Paparazzi, a deep blood cherry red was the hardest for me to wear, as it’s a colour that I wouldn’t usually go for, but it’s made me want to branch out and keep trying it. Icon, a dusky mauve pink has to be my favourite of the three, and although cool toned, it suits my skin tone. Elite, a true autumnal deep berry is really flattering on and will definitely be a makeup staple throughout the season. With a creamy, long lasting formula, they apply with a fully opaque finish, and although the darker colours need the help of a lip brush for precise application, they feel so comfortable on the lip and have a velvet semi matte finish.
Sleek have such a great reputation for the quality of the products, and the high pigmentation. For a drugstore brand, I have never been so eager to splash the cash down the aisles of Boots, especially when they have a 3 for 2 offer. I’m definitely going to pick up the Cleopatra’s Kiss Highlighting palette next time I’m shopping – it’s a dream.
