Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette

Although I own almost as many perfumes as I do lipsticks, there are a very small few that hold a special place in my heart. The magic in a scent is that they can transport you back in time to days gone by, a place of memories that evoke warm fuzzy feelings, and remind me of my loved ones. Marc Jacobs Daisy is one of those special fragrances, and since it’s launch in 2007, I have had around 6 bottles as well as the many different variations of the original blend. The reason I love Marc Jacobs Daisy so much is because it was the first perfume I bought from work when I started flying, and it will forever remind me of happy times.

From the day that I saw the first advertisement for Marc Jacobs Daisy, I knew that not only I would end up buying it, but it would start off a collection that doesn’t disappoint. The simple flacon shows the amber nectar of Daisy, whilst the show stopping lid is covered in white daisies. It’s the lid that sold it for me. It was such a unique idea in a world full of plain perfume lids.

The fragrance itself is a floral – woody fragrance, which is still very much my style. Sparkling and fresh, Daisy is simple, yet sophisticated, feminine and fresh. The fragrance starts off with a fruity bouquet of strawberries, violet leaf and pink grapefruit. The floral emerges from the heart, and I instantly get gardenia and jasmine, two of my most adored floral scents. They mingle with violet before drying down into a heady yet powdery soft musk with vanilla and white woods.

Longevity is good, and sits at around 6 hours of wear before fading, yet I can smell it on my clothes the following day. I really get what Jacobs wanted to get out of Daisy. I feel transported to a field of wild flowers, lovingly warmed by the sun whilst I lay on the grass. The warm sun beaming down onto my face and all of my cares forgotten. Like I am a teenager again where my most difficult problem was whether to spend my pocket money in Topshop or on make up. I wish for those care free days again and with Daisy, I can bring my youth back to me in an instant.

I’d love to know your favourite Daisy by Marc Jacobs. Let me know in the comments below.
