Having a big sort out through my make up stash last week brought me to address my lipstick hoarding situation. My best friend Sarah had mentioned how she wanted a bright pink lipstick to wear, and I knew I had a handful of shades which would look perfect with her olive skin. Whilst setting around 20 lipsticks to one side for her, it became apparent that I have a few brands that I can’t stop accumulating. I love Tom Ford for the luxury although at £38 a lipstick, I can’t keep up with buying them. I also adore MAC lipsticks, with over 100 in my collection. One thing that shocked me though, is just how many of the Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy lipsticks I have. It’s been a bit of a slow start with these, with my first ever shade being the limited edition Kendall Jenner colour, an orange poppy in a matte finish. Slowly, I’ve added several more shades and the more I think about it, the more I can’t get over how great they are. Another travel exclusive from World Duty Free, the Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy Trio has given me three more shades to play with, each one a colour that I will get use out of.
The Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy Trio come packaged in the signature blue glossy box that we know from Estée Lauder, and inside is a glossy, patent red pouch that holds the three lipstick shades, which are all individually boxed. It would make a great gift, or even a way of giving stocking fillers if you were to split the shades, and keep the pouch for yourself. The pouch is a great size for your handbag, and although I have a make up bag in my handbag, this is ideal for smaller bits especially if you have a smaller bag, or are going on a night out.
The three shades of lipstick are Dynamic; a subtle warm pink with a glossy finish, Tumultuous Pink; a cool toned fuchsia with a high gloss finish and Impassioned; a warm toned red-orange with glossy finish. The Pure Colour Envy formulation is designed for lip hugging colour in one swipe, that sculpts the lips whilst hydrating them. True to word, they do give an opaque finish in just one swipe, with the bullet being of a great shape for ease of application without a lip brush. Hydration wise, they are a very moisturising formulation and I don’t get any dry patches whilst wearing nor do they feel tight or uncomfortable on the lip. The glossy finish makes lips look full and kissable and although the colour does wear down, like you would expect, they do last a long time on the lips and leave quite a stain. I average around 5 hours of wear with these, which is more than average. The substantial packaging and magnetic casing also means that lipstick lids aren’t lost in the depths of my handbag. They really are great quality in both aesthetics and purpose.
Each Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy lipstick would retail for £25.50 if bought on the high street, but in World Duty Free this gorgeous set comes in at £55.30, so it’s pretty much a 3 for 2 offer. Are you heading off anywhere nice soon? I think you’ll need to pick one of these up when you do!
