The Estée Edit – Mattified Lipstick in You’re Welcome

My love for the brand new collection from Estée Lauder is still going strong, and The Estée Edit has made a great impression on me. From The Estée Edit The Edit Palette to the great complexion items, there isn’t a product that I have tried that I don’t like. Finishing off my Estée make up collection is the Mattified Lipstick in You’re Welcome, a creamy matte in a stunning vibrant red. As a lipstick lover, I am always on the hunt for perfect shades to fit my lipstick wardrobe and this red is just what I have been looking for.

The Mattified range from The Estée Edit features stunning shades from nude to a bold blue, all with the same creamy formula and matte finish. From first application, it feels too creamy to be a matte but once it has dried, it has an opaque matte finish that doesn’t feel drying. It’s quite the opposite in fact. During wearing, I could have sworn that I had a cream finish lipstick on and kept checking to see if I needed to reapply, but it stayed firmly put and lasted around 6 hours. It really is the most hydrating matte lipstick I have ever owned, and it’s so comfortable to wear.

The shade You’re Welcome is a true red which on myself errs on the cherry side of red. It’s a great colour for making teeth look exceptionally white and bright. I do love how it changes from a creamy sheen on first application to a satin matte when it has dried down and the opacity is there in one swipe. I do find that I need a lip liner to create a more precise lip line, as I do get some bleeding around the lip.

The lipstick is infused with 20% conditioning oils including jojoba oil which I find to be a godsend when I wear it for work where my lips are prone to drying out. I honestly cannot rave about the formula anymore. I am in total love. I think that I may have to add a few more shades to my collection, and I have seen a shade called Killin’ It which is right up my street.

The Estée Edit is exclusive to Selfridges, both online and in store with the lipsticks priced at a reasonable £17.
