Ah, it’s the little things that I love. Sitting on my balcony, basking in the sun whilst sipping on a cold elderflower pressé and painting my nails in juicy summer colours from the Essie Summer range.
The Essie summer collection features six chic shades, laced with finely milled glitter creating a soft shimmery finish on these gorgeous shades.
The shades are as follows:
Sunday Funday: a tangerine coral
The Girls Are Out: fuschia peony
Full Steam Ahead: pearlescent lilac
Rock The Boat: French blue
The More The Merrier: juicy lime green
Naughty Nautical: marine blue/green
I was having dreams about Naughty Nautical nails only a few weeks ago. Every magazine I flicked through featured it, and every time I went to Boots I found myself lusting over that and Sunday Funday. Wouldn’t it be a good idea if Essie was to bring out mini versions of these fab colours…..
The Essie Summer Mini Kit contains three baby Essies in my most coveted shades Naughty Nautical, Sunday Funday and Full Steam Ahead. These 5ml bottles are perfect for myself, as I find that I never finish a full nail varnish, and they’re handy enough to pop in my suitcase for when I’m off jetsetting. And they are just too cute to look at as well!
I have worn all three colours and was very pleased. They do need a base coat and a decent top coat as Sunday Funday is prone to chipping and flaking. Naughty Nautical only had minor tip wear after after two days and as hard as I tried, Full Steam Ahead looks streaky when applied. Overall, I love them and Essie still remains one of my favourite nail varnish brands.
