As a skincare fanatic, I thought I had heard of most long standing brands in the beauty industry. It seems I was wrong. Having never heard of the brand Elizabeth Grant Beauty, when I offered the chance to try it out, I jumped at the chance. Founded in London in 1958, Elizabeth Grant is sold on Ideal World, which happens to have an amazing selection of beauty products. What better way to get a feel for the brand by updating my skincare routine and taking things back to basics with a new routine of products.
I’ve been using Elizabeth Grant Beauty as part of my beauty routine over the last few weeks and from the five products that I have been using, I’ve really formed a bond with a three of the products. I’ve started my daily cleanse by using the Elizabeth Grant Beauty Collagen Re-Inforce Cleansing Mousse, and I really like this cleanser. I wouldn’t usually choose a mousse as I do prefer a cream cleanser, yet this mousse leaves my skin feeling really fresh and clean without leaving a residue. It makes light work of removing stubborn make up and I alternate removing the mousse with either a damp muslin cloth or my Braun face brush. When I used the mousse for the first time, I did find that it left my skin looking a tad red, but I put that down to being a new cleanser for my skin to get used to, as now I have no issues. My skin feels like the top layer has been buffed off, and fresh new skin has been left underneath. Of course, this helps with additional skin care products being applied afterwards and helps then sink into my skin much more easily.
The Elizabeth Grant Beauty Hydra Cell Active Intensive Hydra Treatment is another brilliant product. A serum with a handy teat pipet applicator, I’ve been using this both morning and night. It’s really lightweight and doesn’t feel sticky, and sinks into my skin quickly, leaving my face glowing. It’s pretty good after I’ve been working and need some intense hydration. It hasn’t replaced my favourite Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair but it’s a great product to use under moisturiser to give skin an added hydration boost.
From the Hydra Cell Active range, the Day and Night Eye Créme is another product that I have found to be really compatible for my skin. I still haven’t got used to frequently using an eye cream in my routine, as I find that my usual moisturiser is enough for me, yet this is a little gem. The cream feels like gel when applied and cools down the eye area whilst making it feel like silk. The size of the pot is really generous and holds a lot of product, so it’s excellent value for money as well as being lovely to apply.
From all of the Elizabeth Grant Beauty products, the only thing I wasn’t keen on was the Hydra Cell Active Day and Night Créme. Although I loved the eye cream, I found that the moisturiser just didn’t give my skin enough of a moisture boost and I found that I kept reaching for my usual favourites rather than this one. Even when worn with the serum underneath, I was still craving more hydration. I’m unsure whether it was my skin, or if it was the product, as I found the other Hydra Cell Active skin care items to be really good. Maybe it’s one that needs to be looked at over time.
Finally, from the Collagen Re-Inforce range, I’ve been using the Tinted Moisturiser on no make up days to give my skin a light, sheer tint of colour without having to plaster on the foundation. The colour match is brilliant for my skin, especially with it being a universal shade and it makes my skin look exceptionally glowy and healthy. Another great product.
The whole range of Elizabeth Grant is available at Ideal World and there are loads of special offers on bundles of skincare, and the beauty ranges. I really do recommend the Hydra Cell Active range, especially the serum if you want a lightweight serum suitable for day time wear.
